Right now when I try to stack the fortihold they come falling down because they don't actually stick to the ship. It would be nice if the fortihold will stick to each other as if it was sticking to the ship. Now I know people are going to stack it really high if given the chance so if the devs don't want that abused then maybe we can make it so that you can only stack 3 at most.

As far as stacking goes, the lid popping open is an issue. Too close and a chest stuck to the wall pops off if a chest below it pops it's lid open.
Stacking also hides your 'full' meter, so maybe that can be put on the front... Several issues to iron out.
I stacked em directly on-top of one another, build elsewhere and manually lift them on, they should snap with the magnetic seal, if you fiddle with em a bit
I don't think I've seen them magnet to attach to other physics objects, with the exception of forklift forks and pallets.
Stacks of two are generally okay where the ground is stable, more than that they like to tumble when the lid opens.
I'll have to monkey with them some more and see if I can convince them to lock down with enough jiggling.
There are times, such as warehousing excess goods, that three dimensional stacks are useful, though.
The rotate function needs to include x axis so you can flip it to attach to a wall.
Four on a pallet is what I use for that now, since a pallet of fortiholds on a pallet of fortiholds is pretty stable.
The rotate while held instead of while building, I assume you mean. Because I know that's gonna be the first misunderstanding.
I don’t understand this question
Build on walls, you can’t place them on anything but ground or pallets even elevator they magnet to ground under have to build them not place
For warehousing, where you're not limited to the boat's space, restricting yourself you 2d surfaces can be a limit. At Laz I stack in warehouse-shelving style rows. My iron is currently stacked in rows two fortis wide, four deep, and two tall. Pallets are helpful in keeping them stable.
Some might also like using the fore deck space.
if you stack one crate on another, then bump the crate slightly with another crate, they suction down to the crate below... these crates all stuck together
sometimes it takes hitting them on the sides and tops to get them to click i use a small crate to tap the other crates around
Interesting trick; I wonder how high you can take that, and whether a stack of four or five will make physics crap itself when you open them and drive the fortis through a wall. Something to test.
I wouldn't count on it staying around, since it sounds like unintended behavior, but something to make good use of for the moment.
Good to know I'll try that but for shelving on the ship isn't that a little difficult?
so smack it like an old TV
For tight spaces like the boat, yes. The distance between ceiling and floor is slim enough that you can't use a lot of 3d space and have room to walk. The "that" I'm referring to is the warehousing of excess.
I have crates of excess resources that I offloaded at Lazarus. If ever exhaust the world POIs, I can start consuming those before I have to start going fishing for more.
Just posting it as an example that there are times that it's useful.
I have been able to stack them to the top and still access 3 big boxes from floor up the bench stack only 2 high some collision with overhead devices prevented placement such as the lights
takes a lot of bumping and possible reloading to get all the boxes to connect to the one below, when they connect the ones around them dont move i've got 2 in the middle i've been fiddling with for half hour and 2 on the top left * right picture* that just wont stick so i reloaded game to try to get them to sync takes patience but can fit quite a bit in that little cabin
When they're against the wall, just building them on the wall (and ceiling) is usually so much easier. The only thing that bugs me about that is hiding the icons and customization.
But that back room DOES have enough space to do some floor storage in the middle. I tend to use it for other things, but there is a lot of space there.
That almost looks modded, lined up so neatly 😍
