My boat is stuck on the dock at the launch pad. it seems something is pulling the front under water. it is also violently shaking like it is in a earthquake.

It is likely that something you built has randomly stopped being attached to your boat and is now attached to the world.

Dismantle anything that floats away from your boat or isn't where you built it and it should release your boat.

for me it was tires!

I’ve just had the same issue. I’ve noticed the anchors has dropped onto the dock itself and can’t retract now because it’s higher than the spot it usually sits when retracted

Please share what you did to fix it! I’d really not like to revert a few days of progress just to unstick my ship.

here you go @magic nexus . give this a shot. you had some invisible power cables stuck somewhere it looks like. i moved ya slightly away from Exodus to test that i could move.

I’ll need to figure out how to get the save. I’m on Deck. It’s also late. I’ll upload tomorrow. Thank you so much!

i'm no expert on the Steam deck so i can't help ya there lol.

#

i just need the save lol.

I would also like to know what you did to fix it so if it happens to me I can fix it myself. Are you actually looking at the save with a program or just adding it to your game and looking for things? I want to know😎

adding the save to my game and looking around basically lol. i'm just a player like you 🙂

a stuck boat is usually caused by two things: a module that failed the physics check and is now floating - or - something hidden somewhere you might not see. floating modules are easy to spot as long as you're not in one of the dry docks. waves help you see floating stuff. just dismantle and rebuild floating stuff. for something hidden, i just use the E loot trick and run around to see if i can grab something. basically, drop something on the ground. hold E to pick it up, but don't let go. run around the recycler/fabricator and all corners and such and 'hope' you manage to grab whatever it is. for Insidious Sasquatch, the E loot trick fixed it as he had some cables he built stuck in the fabricator.

Cool, thanks for the info. 😎

i'll add that these things don't always work. they'll catch a lot of things, but sometimes someone, who is better than me at finding stuff, will need to do what they do best.

That's who I want to talk to the person best in the field of finding lost items haha.....Thanks again.

I hope I got the right save. Should be on the boat at night (sorry) out front Exodus.

Ah, wait I see it. I hadn't cleaned up the mats from the recycler and some have rebound to the world instead of the ship. How do I go ab out dealing with those?

the new crate in front of the fabricator is all the mats i pulled from the recycler. you'll have more in your inventory. i had to use a crafting trick to get rid of the floating resources you can't pick up. i'm pretty sure i got them all...
EDIT: if you want to fix the floating resources you can't grab yourself, the trick is simple. it's better if you move your boat away though. move you boat far enough away so you're outside all your crate's proximity range (that is why your boat is moved). empty out your inventory of all resources. now... jump in the water and head to where those resources are that you can't grab. open your build menu and see what you can craft. you may not be able to grab them, but you can craft with them 🙂

OK, thank you so much! I have a quick Q. I actually got my boat unstuck, but seems to be only partially. Made some progress but noticed two issues. One, the boat is a lot slower. Two, it's sailing at a slight crab angle. Could I fix this save up myself to avoid reverting a bit of progress?

cunning stream
#

let me reload the save and check something real fast...

#

well your boat is going slower because the diesel engine is off lol. there is a switch there in the main cabin. not sure about the angle thing though. she's sailing fine for me in the save above.

Yep, even considering the electric only setting right now. Maybe I just took too long of a break! Haha.

#

Thank you for the fix. I'll revert since the angle is driving me nuts.

cunning stream
#

just a thought. could it just be the camera angle while you're sailing? on the pc, you can just move your mouse around while piloting and it changes the angle you see the boat.

I was checking the map and seeing that the boat bow point was not in line with the trajectory line the map projects.
