I think there should be a little tutorial before the hanger mission. I have only played the demo and got up the lift and then thought the blue octopus was a no go thing. so would love to see a little indicator on how to kill them because I was stuck on it for a long time.

it does do that, it tells you which key to use for melee as you climb the 3 steps to the first enemy

This was Demo feedback. They added to the game for the early access release a persistent tooltip on the right side of the screen to press "G" to melee that stays there until you press "G" for the first time. (That persistent tooltip wasn't there originally from what I recall in the first demo version that I played. It received several updates as they worked towards Nov 6 launch.)
