Hi gamers,

I recently got a 3D printer (FDM), it's a fantastic cult to be in. I've made a good few things like gifts and functional parts to help with work and for my home setup.

I thought I'd make a thread so people can share tips, settings, models and whatever else there is based around 3D printing.

There will be no more updates to this page. The new home of this model is now on GitHub. Any updates will only be available there. This is an evolution of the rubber band gun that started out as the step-up-action wooden gun by RBGuns, which was made available on Thingiverse as a laser-cut design by ddanijell. This was later on remixed as a 3D pr...

my main advice would be to play around with settings, build plates, and filaments(even different brands) to just get a feel for things

#

when i say settings i mostly mean the ones in the slicer, cause those are easy to reset, as opposed to settings baked into the printer

#

oh and if your not familiar with cad, i would get on that sooner than later

@lusty basin how tight would you recommend for x/y/z nuts (?) to be

#

not sure if they're just a neptune thing or on enders/BBLs as well

wdym x y z nuts?

#

are they just regular "screw until its tight enough that it wont fall off" kinda nuts

#

or are they for calibration

it's a fantastic question. some people say until they're tight, some say there's a sweet spot? just wondering if it was something that's generic. if not, no problem, will go back to reddit or sum

probably until they are tight

#

unless they are for calibration

#

then there might actually be a sweet spot

yeah.. they feel like a cal thing, but yeah I'll do some more research

ty tho

tried to print the same thing with elegoo's 3 times and had layer shift in the same place. tried orca and worked first time. found it from a few videos which said the same thing

did a ton of calibration (repeating manual and seeing the mesh through klipper), did a benchy and I'm extremely happy with results

#

calibration does in fact take a good amount of time
