I'd like to propose this feature

This would provide great value for the community by these points listed below:

  1. Saves Time:-
We don't have to scroll for too long finding units when it's our turn. Since players would've optimized the best ones, I'm sure there are players out there that have MANY.

  2. More great matches:-
Since the decks are optimized it gives space for players to focus on these units and how best to use them, without losing focus on subpar units for the map. It's good practice. I believe players will become more skillful, having too many options can sometimes be a draw back, unless you're a god at the game.

  3. Engagement and fun content:-
People love giving their 2cents, Phobies no less! People can show off their deck comps and explain why certain things are good. We see it all the time with all card games. Content creators could pilot it and show what the meta looks like in a more concise way.
Players can discuss and give their analysis, combos, synergy etc. all from just a deck.

How it's Done

Players will have the option to customize decks and assign them to maps.
These decks will have a sideboard for situational instances

They also have the option during matches to switch to their entire library (classic mode)

Flexibility is key, so nothing is taken away, only added!

Conclusion

I understand making the feature might be a big undertaking. I think this would add greatly to the player experience and online engagement

Bad idea. Terrible, even.
The game prides itself for having its entire roster usable at any time. So phobies that are extremely powerful, but only in a niche that doesn't come up very often will suck. By adding a deck system not only are you restricting the use of a massive portion of the roster, you are also making any niche phobies entirely useless, as all the super flexible ones will be meta.
Speaking of meta, it also forces others to use the best decks in order to win, which leads to repetitive matches, where players using the exact same deck, face off against others using the same deck or a similar variation of it.
Not to mention if an opponent deck counters yours, you're not going to have fun, meanwhile with the current system you can counter them back with whatever you have, which creates a fun dynamic not found in any kind of deck system where your number of cards is limited.

I think many games benefit from a deck building aspect, and this game specifically doesn’t, its designed and balanced around the idea you can summon any phobie at any time. Even if you made it an optional feature, no one would pick it because limiting your units only puts you at a disadvantage, and im definitely against it being mandatory, the game isnt balanced for it at all. The maps are this game are designed to have an independent meta, if i lock in a specific deck, my winrate is hugely dependent on the map that i got.

In my understanding, it's the same as starring them except you can have different star loadouts saved for each map. So like Klepto might be starred on phobopolis but not redrum.

For that to work though youd need to have the custom suggestion of letting players challenge each other on all of the maps available, or youd need to make a new set of decks every rotation.
