Sunny Pires - Gnars IRL Premiere Event

Continue prop 512 with Gnars for a great impact and onboarding big names from surf industry.

TLDR: Rickyday (me) and Sunny Pires, along with our team, passed a prop on NOUNS, to make a Docuseries in Nicarágua to conquer a Volcano in the name of Nouns as a surf adventure.

We aim to engage the Gnars community in the project. Our initial idea is to have Gnars featured in the episodes (is gonna be there). However, we would like to make an IRL event to launch the docuseries as an extra distribuition, impact and onboarding from our initial prop to Nouns.
We believe this docuseries and Gnars collaboration will significantly benefit our community.

Congratulations on the work all you are doing. Regarding the prop, I don't know for sure about taking around 5k funds from gnars to complement a proposal financed by nounsdao even though there are creative things in the prop..

We wanna involve the community somehow on this.
We are already inserting gnars freely at the Docuseries, I have gnars merch, and board with gnars brand, and it will be showed at episodes.

But we wanna make more impact for gnars.

This is how we figure it out to have impact and onboarding people, big names of surfing beeing invited, plus the whole event.

To make a big event like this, that really have some impact, is hard to have lowest cost than this, we already negotiate the minimum amount we could do.

We could do a smaller event, but it wouldn't be a good spent of money, because of the lack of impact we would have.

This would be great way to show professional surfer what is gnars and our ecosystem.

We wanna make it attractive for everyone to attend it.

We received good feedbacks from this prop through dms.

And we are excited to make this happen.

We really believe we could do something good with this for the community.

Gnars giveaway, lots of things. Gnars branded surfboard, the ultimate model.

I'm trying to insert the community to onboard people, we already doing this with nouns prop for Gnars without gnars fundind, we just want to make things better than it is.

We seeing props passing with 10k to 13k for gnars alone, here we are just asking for the cost, its mix of community for the bigpicture.
Great impacts only happens with investment, as said before, with less than 5k I cant do a good impact for gnars fr an event like this

I will be voting against this prop for several reasons, and I hope other members follow my vote.

1. The movie proposal is already funded by Nouns, and it has 27,800 USDC + 6 ETH (around 18k USD as we write). Which means the total budget for the movie production is around 45.800.

It's already a lot of money and you can easily move your budget around to make this IRL premiere. Maybe even cutting a little from your commission as Sunny's manager, since you're being a middleman.

From the prop 512 there are 4 team members getting paid 1.5 ETH compensation. How about changing the compensation to 1 ETH for each member and make the IRL event with the remaining 2 ETH? You already have more than enough.

2. This prop did not go through the Gnars Governance Call, which would be a chance to receive feedbacks. I was acctually hoping to say that to you on that call, because I'd love to hear your explanations.

3. I've said this to you in person and I will say it again. If you want to onboard a shredder, maybe you should help them understand Gnars, guide them through our community, help them become a part of the DAO.

I don't like that you act as an intermediary. I am totally against this conduct and I will vote against every prop you do on behalf of other shredders. I believe Gnars wants to bring SHREDDERS ONCHAIN, and not their intermediaries.

The way you're doing this creates a cycle in which you get paid every time you make a new prop for the shredders, instead of making them independent. I'd love to see this proposal coming from sunny, for example.

I am aware that you are seeking grants all over the nouns ecosystem, specially on behalf of others. It might be ok in other communities. Honestly, I will not support it on Gnars and I will raise the red flag every time I see it.

4. Regarding the proposal financials: Why do we have to pay USD950 for a board to be raffled? How about Sunny raffle a board of his own? Does Sunny really pays USD950 for a board?

About our work and value, the event is not on there prop, we made this Idea after to try to reach awareness and onboarding people, the hole Idea is to create the curiosity from people to see this square noggles investing on this kid with a trip, Press relation, event, professional surfer will be interested to understand more and than when they reach us we onboard them.

You can see here how much things we are making extra with our main funding, and our budget is already fully compromised.

Sunny cames from a humble family, tecnology lackless, and making english course to try to be more on community, he already participated in some spaces, but I will say that again, not everyone can be like you, you work with cripto and web3, he has his own limitation, and I'm his manager, I'm trying and his is trying his best to make people know about the square noggles on his board, you can see here on this podcast, he ins fully onboarded. About the prop I made before with Nico (only 1 prop), I work on those prop, I'm working for this happen and I'm working on this today, we are a team and I manage him, Profesional people cant advanced on their career without a team, and this prop in only cost exactly because we were already paid for the prop 512.

I'm not a "grant seeker" as you say I'm seeking money on behalf of others, calm down my friend, dont start offending here, I WORK with professional athletes, we are a team, and thats my skill, manager, thats wy my other props passes, because of my work and what I'm building in gnars and Nouns.

If you wanna spit shit on the fan I can say a lot too about your props. But is not the case, I'm not starting a beef with you, sorry, you've beeing against my work since day one.

People who is reading this, this "feedback" became more personally than a feedback from prop, pay attention to the prop, I don't want any beef, not gonna be that person, see what we are building, is everything at blockchain what I do with props, and yes, I had to put aside my job to build things with my athletes for props to happen.

About the board, as said on call, Hennek Sunny's shaper, charge for give this board, it a custum made, one of the most expensives surf board that everyone wants. He send me his price to make it, soo doesn't matter if it is a beginner of a professional, the lucky one can make a board for his size.

Sunny can't give his own surfboard, as you said, if he gives, he needs to pay for them to hennek, and for the giveaway wouldnt be interested for audience because it wouldn't fit for them.

Unfortunately we didn't got the minimum quorum even with all votes together (for/against/abstain)

Got some feedback to improve it, and willing to put again. We really believe that this could bring soo mutch things for the community in a positive way.

The % of people voting FOR is amazing and make us belive we are doing a good job.
