#Make Magic Chess PvP points more fair!

Right now, for me it is:

1st Place: 20 points

2nd Place: 10 points

3rd Place: 5 points

4th Place: -10 points.

The 4th place -10 points is completely unfair. It should be 0 points or -5 points maximum.

There is a LOT of RNG in this game mode, and it has been very punishing to win a match only to lose 2 times and end up back to where we started.

Its too hard to ascend the ranks this way - we are limited to 2 hours a day within a specific time window of 1 hour each.

Do not punish players this much for ending in last place. It's not that uncommon.

-5 or 0 points is more than enough.

Look at the accumulation of points globally. Every match genereting 35-10=25 points. I guess it's good, usually in competetive modes points are symetric, so it is something like:
#1. +10
#2. +5
#3. -5
$.4 -10

Current approach is good enough to climb towards 2250+ points for all active players till end of season

I think so too. With dedication, tenacity and time you can do it even wwith non meta units

Bro, you haven’t gotten to the 2750 points yet.

After that, the points are even crazier:

  1. +15
  2. +5
  3. -5
  4. -15

That’s why you can see stagnation of points around 2800+- because on average you have to end up second if you want to climb and even then, it’s just by 5 points. The reason why top 5 are over 3K is because their high inspirations on heroes. so they can most of the times can be 1st or 2nd and usually don’t end up 4th.

If Paranoid is correct and for the 3250 onwards only first get points, then I am not looking forward if I ever get there.

Also I think it is quite normal to give negative points in any ranked competition (TFT works the same way). Your distribution is pretty generous as you just have to make sure to end up third in bad rng games and if 1 won game for you and 1 lost game for you still gives you +10 points at the end. I have to end up 2nd, and any won and lost games cancel each other out.

Then if they are going to make it so Krakens only (I am an obese Porpoise) are able to compete due to full inspirations on all hero’s, what is the point of everyone else playing this content!

You can’t move the goalposts to favour the Krakens with the points that @kind elm has indicated may be started, it’s already favouring the Krakens on many areas of the game already, this needs to change!

Wow. If I am to be brutally honest, I didn't even KNOW that inspired heroes had an effect in Magic Chess?

Like, what is even the point of this game mode then? Is it just the FOURTH arena we have, after Gladiator, Realmswide, and Team arenas?????

I cannot recall how they advertised this, but I think it was about this being a game mode for everyone.

So as the creator of this thread, now that it hit me that Hero inspirations work inside Magic Chess, just nevermind....

Krakens with i5 Amoenleyda etc will win all matches.

That is probably why a single Amoenleyda killed 4 of my Frost heroes leveled up to max inside Magic Chess, lol.

This should NOT be called Chess. Rename it "Coin Arena" or something, since we buy heroes and upgrade them with coins.

Chess is about SKILL and MOVING pieces around.
But this is yet another mode where $$$$ wins, and we just see units auto attack and move =/= Chess

I bet inspired Aura is Ultimate Win, cause it boosts not only HP itself (more survivability) but Damage also. Only get 3 Aura heroes and +5000 HP on the board for each hero. Even Aspalta with Wolf could do nothing in first round to them ))

I understand the need to deduct points on last place, if not it just becomes a competition of who plays the most. What I want is less p2W advantage.

What they should do is open all schools at once, balance them and let everyone have access to all heroes and let everyone have an equal playing field... then you will have a great mode that is based on strategy and skill that is similar to TfT. There are already so many modes that only whales have a chance at securing top spots. This could have been a mode entice new players but instead it's another p2W bs mode.

completely agree with Hayden. The current point system is too punishing and it makes the mode less enjoyable for everyone. We need a system that is fair and accessible so people actually want to play. But more importantly, Magic Chess should be a true f2p mode, just like Blade of Colosseum. We already have more than enough p2w modes in this game. Let’s make Magic Chess about skill and fair competition, not about who has the biggest wallet. Make the points fair and make the gameplay fair for everyone.

I think if inspirations made no difference, and everyone had all heroes, that would be more important than 4th place being -10 or -5 points. Let’s see how they take this feedback...

Also, the PvE modes get really difficult and it's not about coffer points, but inspirations I am pretty sure. Dojo stages 6+ have some tough first fights that are impossible to win and that even with me focusing on ONE school with ALL coffer points.

I get it that there is a progression system, but I think the coffer points PLUS inspirations from the 'real' heroes affecting Magic Chess made the system too P2W and progressional where it should have been about skill and placement and movement CHOICES like real chess.
