Character Level Reset

Why have all of my characters levels been reset to 1 and all of my gear removed? I’ve spent months developing characters and collecting gear to have it all disappear.

Entering the new season, all heroes are reset to level 1 and all gear is reset to initial level but not removed

I lost all my gear and items... How's this a thing?

Read a little when they send out notices. There are multiple places informing you of this seasonal reset

Gear, bread is gone.
Heroes reset to lvl 1.
