Early season its 3 star affinity any way so untill you unlock 5 star you can use her with any element. Its nice when 1 unit brings multiple things so you can use 1 hero instead 2 or 3. She have remove all buffs, remove all debuffs, heal, and controll. Nice adition. Especially how offten we end up needing remove all debuffs. But that was just guild boss aura already kind of starting to work and we didnt even get new aura dps.

And if you know what you are doing it should not be hard to break top 50 as a f2p

I'd say that breakdown will probably be 30% veteran players trying it out, 30% brand new players, and then the rest will be existing players that want to start over and be more efficient

Of the "brand new players" I would say at least half of those that continue to play will be of the mega whale variety

And a very small portion of brand new f2p or low spenders will continue to play into the next season

But the Celebration servers are definitely whale bait being marketed to whales as a way to get into the game and have a huge advantage up front

They are trying to attract these whales primarily with the celebration servers

I'll be starting a new one on the Celebration server and if I get magically lucky to pull Khrysos Berengar Reytah and early pulls of exc then I will stop playing my older characters lol

In fact I plan on starting a character on every Celebration server that opens and seeing what I get from initial pulls

Which I think will be the approach of a lot of veteran players and account sellers

1. I want to go IceBlast and get Beldelle + Shinnah first and drop fire team (Flora), as far as I know fire team is the best team in S1 and drops every season since then...
2. If I am done with Ice Blast, I want to get Shadow Wolf and build a shadow team
3. I do not sure about Arch Angle (do not know the name, something like "Anelisis"), is she good? she seems pretty good for me

Based on that trajectory I would say a good long term plan is choosing what you like and being efficient with your pulls

But for instance on one of my characters I do not have summoners at all and I don't miss them in any way and not having them does not prevent me from ranking.

Currently the investment for Dauntless is the heaviest because there are two exclusives and two exc artifacts

Wild and summoner both have two exclusives but they have not released exlusive artifacts for Bernande or Chorak yet

So the answer to your question is you should be prepared to fully invest in whatever school you want to use as your main
