Because of his passive, the only time he's not the best tank in the game is if you're in a fight where somehow inflicting debuffs on your enemy is a bad thing.

And I think I can only think of 1 fight where that's the case, and he's still worth it.

Garett is incredibly good and an absolute monster. He has a tricky kit, but the damage he does once you get his stats right and the other pieces fall into place is spectacular. It wouldn't surprise me if he is the hardest hitting hero in the game. He's also very versatile as far as lineup goes, he doesn't necessarily need to be in dauntless team to wreak havoc either.

I was initially disappointed over his dps, as Schaltar, Shagrol, and even sometimes Volthug surpassed his damage when I started testing him as I got him. But after further tweaking and testing, he really turned out to be the beast from hell I hoped he would be when I read his kit and went for him in the summons event.

You don't want too many of your team crowding the enemy half of the battlefield - they will literally get in his way, making him do less(but still massive) damage. Ideally you'd want him to be your only melee hero(although he pairs well with Shagrol) supported by ranged debuffers and, essentially, good support heroes. What you are looking for is heroes that give big shields, big heals, heal over time, and debuff immunity. Other buffs and debuffs are nice too, except for defence buffs which will actually hinder his damage substantially, although it can help in the beginning to keep him alive as you're building his stats up and especially if you don't have the right type of support characters otherwise. However, once you manage to get all the pieces into place, he WILL rush into the enemy and slice them up one by one, on a flurry. He will effectively also function as a tank in this regard. He also shines very bright in boss fights in a Dauntless team, he always does the most damage(among s-tier dauntless damage dealers) and you don't have to avoid bringing alot of melee heroes to boss fights, in fact you will usually want a strong dedicated tank. As for stats, by far his most important one is HP, followed by RES, ATK, CR, and CD, with ATK speed less important(but still gold) than on other dauntless heroes.

*I meant to say that he pairs well with Schaltar on the frontline of course. Shagrol will get in his way outside of boss fights.

Generally yes, Garius is likely the best Epic tank for explicit tanking.

Horrus however has Attackbreak, and if you do not replace this might find yourself lacking on T4+ raids for a bit until you replace it.

Horrus battleskill has attack break 2, which lets entire team take less damage.

Where as Garius has no debuffs on enemies.

Garius is a better maintank, for explicitly tanking. But has worse utility due to no major debuffs.

You have to replace attackbreak 2 with another unit if you replace Horrus. Otherwise you may find yourself with everyone dead but your tank due to AOE's

Garius can solo tank Venom easier, but you'd have more luck with Horrus for Curse, etc.

tamar is great in pvp. i used her with lots of skill haste, so she does the stunning first. be sure to have her with decent amount of accuracy, and also the def down artifact. just be sure not to run her against heroes like lucien, your ultimate won't stun anyone once he gives his shield to his whole party. shes usable in goblins too.
auster is an overall good hero. bring a frost applier with him when youre running a frost lineup.

you have strong rally legos(huberg and thelendor, and thelendor is an exclusive legendary too), you could build it centered around the two. I would just level Ivellios later, since he shines more in a dauntless composition.

Exclusive legendaries can only be summoned thru normal summoning, and not on the special banners.

Each element also has a sub-class. For example:
Radiance - > Rally
Lightning - > Dauntless
Fire - > Wild
and grouping up the same sub-category of each elements makes them stronger.

thats just two of them tho, not sure if it would be good enough. if you want it centered around the two just post both your 'lightning' and 'radiance'. ill just warn you ahead, dauntless comp might be a bad option if you wanted to progress you're story since they lack aoe.

rally heroes have a chance to gain a 'rally' buff that is consumed when they use their ultimate. they could gain it from both either their passive or battle skill. they have strong aoe too. also show your 'lightning'(and not dauntless), and radiance(not rally) heroes. you still need a tank and healer.

i would just suggest Thelendor, Huberg, +1 other rally (Martina, Evania, Kailes, Gitouma)
then the rest is filled with a tank, Horrus(Fire, hes your day3-login reward) , Heksandra(free rare healer from story-campaign). This lineup only uses up the 3-man affinity bonus.

Yup I got slightly burned going hard with dauntless as I started off early with a great core of Volthug, Schaltar and Sharlock, and then managed to pull Garett(❤️) from the event. Hit a bit of a brick wall in dungeons and fey wilder though, because of the aoe lack.

I love high def on frurbath. He often times out heals my main healer!! Tempest vortex included.

Due to not many DPS options I use him at goblin as well. And he does fairly well there with ATK and crit.

I made a planned set for frurbath, primarily focused on DEF. I may modify that with accuracy and / or resist in the future.

Garett is the bandaged dauntless gladiator DPS who looks like he should've retired a lifetime ago. His kit is very peculiar and a theory-crafter's dream, he can indeed function as a tank, with the right support.

You might be thinking of Garius however, as mentioned above. He's a very classic tank, and might just be the tankiest tank in the game.

Hes my tank and ironically my best healer, whereas heksandra does about 13k healing on each party member, he does 26k healing on each person and hes a wall with all of his defense

if you have him, build him with at least 2 rolls of defense on each piece of gear and put the defense artifact on him. The more defense he has the more he heals

Sweet. He grew on me very quickly to be honest. I was short on both potions and energy when I pulled him, got him to 20 and threw some epic gear on him and brought him along for some battles in the wild to unlock his story, and he does crazy damage for a level 20 that's for sure. My only rally options are the rares and a couple of epics. I reckon Martina will pair well with him. Could those two work together in a team or do rally champs need to be 3+ to be viable?

Most of those heroes appear to have a lower drop rate than other legendary heroes probably because they are known top tier (there will be individually weighted drop rates for different legendary heroes at undisclosed rates)

Jatha needs lot of poisons on enemies. But when you do that ... on arena my purely tank team was attacked by poison team. My 120K Ergander died in one blow from her because opponent's support units could put 25 poison counters on him before Jatha ult.

So horras Horace whatever (the fire tank) and garius take a long time to kill, if they are dressed somewhat tanky. Sometimes an arena match becomes all about chopping them down until timer runs out.

Frurbath is not very intimidating to me but eregandor just does easily imo. Which is maybe why his ultimate involved immortality.

I wasn't lucky but at least the game seems to not give soe many dupes. The epics I got are sustaining me.

Healing and damage taken are both broken at the moment. It is pretty much never accurate lol. I have heroes that can't even heal getting healing results. Might be the shields just aren't calculated properly and breaking stuff.

While heroes that aren't getting hit, saying they took 100k damage.

If you want my opinion, I would say 1. Lorentheel is needed, he is the battery for any rally team. 2. Alton Spikes up the damage for the team. 3. Then you need a good rally damage dealer, preferably philto or Thelendor. Not sure how well the epics do, as I have been using Thelendor

Try Sigrid, ergander, frurbath, meggan and voresh. Not sure if it will work better than what you do now, but it would be worth trying. You are gonna level up voresh regardless

Defense up + recovery, and dispell from Meggan, she will also charge erganders ult, so he can be immortal more of the time. Frurbath will heal and dispell as well and apply atk down, ergander will apply atk down and tank, voresh will heal and do damage to boss and orbs, he will also do buff prohibition (wont do much in this fight, but in other dungeons it will help a lot) Sigrid, will apply debuffs and do damage

Great captain skill. And an awesome frost applier. So she works very well with usha or rowena for example. Or any other frost hero that deals extra damage towards enemies inflicted by frost.

She needs accuracy to hit those frost debuffs. Give her attack/crit%/crit damage for the extra damage output

Heb does aoe buff block on ult+ damage + heals on an ally. On battle skill he removes buffs. He is amazing in every content but especially in cursed and ancient battlefield. Also in arena he is amazing

I've tried everything I can on her and high attack/crit damage even if the crit rate isn't great yet, is still the best.

Felosia makes the music box like 95% uptime. Otherwise I'd probably be using giant's eyeball.

Rava with skill haste, helps on frost and since each of her ultimate casts will deal damage 7 times, it has never failed to activate the unclean crown defense down purple trinket.
Rava also brings 24% crit damage captain skill to all battles.

Random tip. Felosia+Gladros=Entire team immune to control.
The skills that have control debuffs will also deal damage which means Felosia will always shield that hero and Gladros will use the shield from Felosia to make the entire team immune to control debuffs.

because usually description like this tends to forget to mention that the effect only applies by the hero providing the shield on its skill description.
same case with Luciens passive. it did say control immunity, but when his shield get overwritten by a stronger shield provider like Vinyara, the control immunity didnt take effect.

Yeah that part is less effective, as you say it is strickly from Glad's own shield. The shield is just as big as my Felosia's but the shields don't stack which is why I took out Glad eventually to try other venues.
It sucks watching Felosia place an 11k shield for Glad to do the same and just waste the ultimate.
