Hello, I'm here to share a project of mine.

I've fully translated the In Stars and Time demo into Brazilian Portuguese, in an effort to make the game more accessible to a wider audience.

To play it, download the demo from Steam, then download the latest patch from the shared Google Drive folder, unzip it, and apply the patch.

If you want to help, share screenshots of any bugs you encounter in your playthrough, grammar errors, mistranslations, or suggestions to improve the overall experience.

And if you enjoy the translation, leave a reaction, comment, and share the game with more people (after all, the demo is free!)

REMEMBER! This is an English-speaking server, so please refrain from leaving comments in Portuguese. Use Portuguese only to reference direct demo text and dialogue or to suggest translation changes, and keep it inside "quotation marks."

Thank you for your time, and have fun!

Also, a note,

This translation is a fan-made adaptation for "In Star and Time" game demo, and is not officially authorized or endorsed by Insertdisc5 and Armor Games Studios. All rights to the original content belong to their respective owners. This translation aims to make the game more accessible to the Brazilian Portuguese speaking community. If you enjoy the original work, we encourage you to support it through official channels, and buy the full game.

hello if it is possible
I would like to request a translation of the complete game if there is already a translation of in stars and time in Brazilian Portuguese. Thank you in advance to whoever has the file in question.loopHeart2

As a professional game localizer, I would love to translate ISAT. This is one of my favorite games ever, I relate to it on so many levels, I want to be able to share it with everyone I know, and I would start it right now if I could. But it would be really harmful to the translation industry if I offered a fan translation for the full game. It would allow the creator to profit on unpaid work and trivialize linguistic work, and I don't think that's what they want. However, I do agree with this fan translation of the free demo, as it shows the creator that there are people interested in playing the game in PTBR. Maybe this is the way to request an official translation.

there is not really any way to request an official translation--while adrienne has had many emails and asks and such about it and would love to have the game in more languages, the game has 175k words in it and translations are (rightfully so!) very expensive, and even moreso for a game of this size. they're hoping for the japanese translation to pay for itself, but the best path to official translations is really part interest and large part for the game to sell enough that there's enough money to finance that translation :>

Thank you for your response! It's nice to know we are being heard here 🙂
I understand that there isn't much to do if there are currently no funds for it. But (if I may offer a suggestion) there are many reasons why the Brazilian market should be placed high on the priority list, if localization into other languages is ever on the table again. Brazilian Portuguese is the 5th most popular language on Steam (Japanese is 6th), but since only 1% of our population is proficient in English, most people won't buy a narrative-based game in a language they don't understand. According to recent research, 70% of Brazilians are engaged in gaming activities, and that's saying a lot for a country with approximately 220 million people. I'm sure you and Adrienne already know that localization is a good investment. And if you want to cut costs, you can always hire freelancers individually instead of a localization agency. Plus, I've seen quite a few Brazilian streamers/TikTok videos of people playing or talking about ISAT, and there are always comments about how people would love to play it if it were accessible in their (our) native language.
Anyway, like I said, just a suggestion. Thanks for reading!

i will say for clarity that i'm not really in a place to make suggestions to adrienne, i'm just a moderator here familiar with her previous responses on the subject, i'm afraid! but i appreciate your passion and expertise on the subject and i'm sure if the ability to do another translation ever opens up that they'll weigh every option carefully :> and i hope that one day it will become a possibility for all of the folks speaking brazilian portuguese to be able to play!

ok you have a big point to be made, a translation is expensive and we are also not sure that someone could play the translation, but taking into account that many games, both triple and indie games that are sold to the public, most have a translation made by fans to alleviate this problem, I even understand that the fact that having a translation would not bring profits to the company but would bring profits to the company indirectly because the game is incredible and became one of my favorite games after playing it incompletely and even more so as the population of Brazil is one of those that makes the most profit from games, but in any case it would be interesting to talk to adrienne about this as he is the only one who could inform us about the real possibility of this translation

(adrienne's pronouns are she/they btw!) adrienne has requested that people not contact her anymore about translations because they got so many emails about it. you could send in an ask on her tumblr ask box if that's open, but i can't guarantee you'd get an answer on the subject. all i can say is that her previous answer has been 'fan translations are allowed as long as they are a patch, and there are no plans for an official translation at this time because of the cost'.

Well, it's just a matter of time, I guess.
Because I believe that if the team here keeps working on marketing or does something shocking to the public in a positive way, it will bring more attention to the game. But you can see with examples of Omori and Undertale that after a hype with the game and then there was a translation mod, it wouldn't be mandatory to contact via email I guess.
And sorry for getting the pronouns wrong.
