Prompted to re-import characters already tied to a Master Account and cannot get into the OG Master

As titles suggests. I play/maintain three softcore characters on the same device which AFAIK is not against ToS. Today upon launching the game through steam as I always do I was prompted that "there are characters found on this device you can import" the characters suggested are the three I've already imported and been playing through steam. I click import and it says the characters are already tied to a master account. I try importing via email/password tied to each original character before the new system/migration and I'm met with "these characters are already tied to a master account." It is like they were de-synched from the original steam import and are now in Limbo?

I have searched the discord for this issue and see recommendations to open up a ticket with player appeals however when I try that it either says unresponsive or I do not have access to use said channel.

Please advise.

That's very strange

So you:

• Imported the characters to a master account linked to your Steam
• Some time passes, you log into your master account via Steam and there are no characters and it's asking you to import again?

#player-appeals is the right place. I would try again in an hour or so. It looks like either MEE6 or Discord is having issues right now (am unable to open a ticket myself as well)

Just to be clear when I press play from Steam this is the exact screen the game launches on:

typically the characters were just choosable on the far left column to be played

however now I'm being asked to re-import all three and then I'm stuck in the cycle I originally typed

I only have one steam account so it isn't a case of accidentally switching steam accounts or anything

I will wait and try to use player-appeals when it is functioning, thank you.

The master account you created for these characters was by email. That master account doesn't have a Steam account connected to it

I've launched the game through steam and played that way for over 600 hours, never had this issue until today. How can I play through steam but use the master account you're talking about?

Playing through Steam doesn't mean that you automatically log-in with your Steam account. This because the game is cross-platform and you might have different log-in methods on different platforms.

When you launch the game, try logging in via email (log out via the settings button first if needed). If you don't know the email of your master account, DM me

OK I was able to logout with the cogwheel and re-sign in with the email successfully. It's just odd that somehow launching through steam suddenly wasn't using the correct master account anymore if that makes sense. Thanks for your help!
