the 25% dmg buff applies only on quest monsters, are you trying it on quest monsters?

Certainly a quest monster...
And we've been discussing this on the discussion channel

Let's say the discussion started from here #questions message

Was this ever sufficiently resolved? Whether it was or not, I think it needs to be revisited.

Reading through the discussion starting with the link above, Masq does appear to confirm it is working against an assortment of enemies, so it was working for them. However, it definitely was NOT working for me tonight against Zeuses and Griffins. With pots active, my max magic damage with an OW staff against both bosses was 94 while the quest was active and still 94 after the quests were completed (when the dark magic pot would proc, I believe it jumped to 160, but I was more focused on baseline than these exceptional hits).

I can also confirm that 94 is the max damage I see when I am potted up fighting against non-quest enemies like werewolves and black dragons (the two I checked against).

I can authoritatively state that either the OW quest bonus damage is not being applied, or alternately, its application is not being reflected in the Damage Calcs tab.

Update: I did see the quest bonus appear while fighting Hades with a quest active. However, the bonus was not visible while fighting Griffins with a quest before the Hades example and was not visible while fighting chimeras on quest after the Hades example.

I don't feel like retyping this again here, so enjoy this screenshot of me typing in my clan discord

tried to replicate this on the test server and I can also see that damage calcs are not changing my max hit vs medusa or devil using an otherworldly staff

The bonus damage is supposed to go away when the quest is completed, right? Its not supposed to remain until you claim the quest reward, right?

also in my previous experience the damage calc +25% dmg buff does appear to be applied visually (when it works) in the damage calcs, even if you continue to fight key bosses after your quest is completed - until you click the claim quest button then the damage calcs no longer shows the buff

fighting bosses without/with the daily quest active gives me the following max hit changes while using ow staff:
griffin goes from 93 -> 111
chimera goes from 105 -> 125
hades does not change 93 -> 93
zeus does not change 93 -> 93
devil does not change 93 -> 93
medusa does not change 93 -> 93

#

mutated dragon goes from 93 -> 111

#

cerberus does not change (speedrunner) 105 -> 105

So it appears to not be tied to a specific quest target, since I did get the bonus on Hadeses and Devils where you did not

fighting bosses without/with the weekly quest active gives me the following max hit changes while using ow staff:

griffin goes from 93 -> 111
chimera goes from 105 -> 125
hades goes from 93 -> 111
zeus goes from 93 -> 111
devil goes from 93 -> 111
medusa goes from 93 -> 111
kronos (arch weakness) goes from 93 -> 111
mutated dragon goes from 93 -> 111
godlike gem hunter provides no bonus (not sure if intended or not)

  • Note: For all kill quest enemies when I first start the fight and open damage calcs the max hit shows 93 until I go back to menu, open the quests ui and then go back into the fight -> damage calcs and then it shows 111

I reopened the quest UI mid-quest to make sure that I was indeed completing the quest (ie looking for the checkmark, which was there). Upon returning and rechecking my max damage, there was no change and it still showed the non-bonus amount

Despite having a Zeus weekly and my damage calcs saying my max hit was 72, I just hit a 73, 75, and 83 so that leads me to believe that this is just a visual issue with damage calcs and is not actually limiting your max hit in combat as long as you have the quest but that may not be true for all cases

#

Another example with mutated dragon daily where it shows my max hit as 72 yet I hit an 84:

#

Opening damage calcs after my quest is finished still shows max hit of 84

#

Going 'back to menu', opening quest ui to see quest is completed, (did not claim it) then returned to combat and clicked damage calcs shows max hit return to 72

The cerberus speedrunner quest might actually be scuffed damage-wise though according to Fantome
