#Runekeeper Dev Branch Megathread

I love the idea that your character is so used to repeating what they’re doing that when they get hungry they eat way too much
“I wasn’t supposed to eat 5 cucumbers????”
i just didn't expect eating to go into the history
It’s any context menu action afaik
i mean, crafting via the normal way doesn't go into history, you have to right click the resulting item and craft via the context menu
extra steps before bulk crafting .. not a much of a hassle since i'm only needing it in the history if i'm going to be doing a lot
I would personally recommend an action slot set to eat hovered item
That wouldn’t appear in history
And no more need to right click for that
i'm not wasting an action slot for that. well, i might have to if this keeps being an issue
If you have space anyway
all the non-modifier action slots are bound, and the modifier ones have issues with usability
it's really common that when i release ctrl+something, it tries to execute the non-modifier something because i released the ctrl a few milliseconds earlier
there's such an obvious workaround to it, always releasing ctrl last, that people will consider it their problem and not your problem 😄
also, i'm totally gonna forget that i bound a new hover-action. so you should probably add it to the item tooltips if i've bound an action i can use on the hovered item
i mean, i've bound repair to a hover action, and i just realized i never used it that way
When you hover over a valid item the action slot itself changes to show the item you’re hovering over as a valid thing to use
I think not noticing that would be one of those big TV + small UI scale things lol
yeah, it's hard to notice it even when you're trying to see it change, as long as the eyes are focused on other part of the screen
Btw just triaging cards now, i’m not sure i’m quite understanding the description of this bug? Are you saying that it starts out displaying the correct contained weight but then when things change it starts showing the weight of the container if held?
there's a good 20cm distance between the food item and the actionbar slot that changes 😄
i think it may have been correct only be coincidence
and i meant it updated to match the "correct" weight
So it starts out incorrect and becomes correct??
actually it looks like it wasn't correct to begin with, i was looking at +1.1 +12.1 and +11.1 ... but those dont add up the way i thought ;D
the point was weight vs capacity
the titlebar of the container says 11.1 in it
completely disregard what i said about anything being correct, that was a mistake on my part
what was happening is that the number kept increasing and decreasing when moving items in and out, in a reasonble manner
i.e. it was as if it was omitting some of the contents for the calculation
i think it happened after traveling, and it happened to all the bags i had, all of them went strange
Hmmmm so normally this doesn’t happen at all?
nope, didn't happen before, hasn't happened after. haven't been traveling, so i cant really know if it was connected to that or not
But reopening fixes it once it goes weird?
I’ll take a look at travelling to see if I can repro with that
yep, reopening each bag fixed them
Were the containers in your inventory or in the boat you were in?
inventory
kk thank you
if it isn't related to traveling, it could be related to trying to shuffle large stacks of items around that wont fit anywhere, which is when i noticed that bug
was trying to reproduce, found a new issue
drag&drop failed, leaving the stack in the air ;D
What the heck
Why did it fail?
Love that screenshot being multiple bugs that I’ve fixed before
Guess it’s not fixed in all situations
i have no idea why it failed lol. except i think it's because the bottom bag was full, it's 50/50 exactly
Are you able to consistently repro with those 15 items in those bags?
That would be a very useful save if so
nope. but managed to reproduce it another way
Oh?
i was dragging the stack, and hit shift while dragging
that caused the hovered items underneath mouse to move
not sure what else i did that mattered
Hmmm
but if you release the dragged stack immediately after hitting shift, you get a variety of strange bugs
for example, just now i moved the raw copper down while hitting shift while dragging those coppers above smelted coppers. as a result, the smelted coppers moved to the upper bag, but aren't displayed there
as a result, you can see 27.8 weight in the top container. it's a different bug than the earlier thing, though, because that's actually the correct weight for what's inside right now
maybe the lag made me hit some interesting corner case earlier lol
hmm not reproing this
Various item bindings are now disabled entirely when dragging an item to hopefully prevent some UI edge cases.
did this to hopefully address it even though i couldn't repro
traveling again, just noticed one of my backpacks is having the wrong weight display
no wait, more than one
pretty much every bag where i've moved things into after traveling
it's just not updating the container title at all right now
huh
you know that thing when you hover a bag, and it highlights its location in the inventory?
if works until you fix the capacity display thing
before reopening, capacity display is broken, but highlight works correctly. after the bag is reopened, capacity display is correct, but highlight no longer happens
reopening the main inventory fixes that... for the bags that were reopened and had stopped working. and breaks it for the rest of the bags
yeah, those other bags have the capacity bug
it's as if the broken containers aren't the same items that are in the inventory ... except, they were before inventory was reopened
not the best bug report
yeah travelling does weird stuff like that
the items are the same but they have a new id and their references are saved a bit differently
that would mean the containers are still referring to the old ids, then
or at least the container windows themselves
the stuff that handles the titlebar, specifically
also ffs "advancing island time" takes forever
yea, those bags i didn't reopen after travel? completely bonkers now
e.g. i try to hover bonemeal recipe, it hilights an arctic poppy in one of those bags
enable/disable auto-use for actionbar slot occasionally opens the context menu
as long as you hit the keys fast enough, seems to happen 100% of the time
automatically disabling the actionbar history mode upon movement is sometimes an anti-feature
for example, when you have 50 wooden poles and want to build pole torches out of them all, for charcoal production
i suppose i can live with having to press two keys instead of one per construct, tho
no, it's extra annoying because i need to ignite them too, and the ignite keybind changes depending on whether i've moved or not, so i need to manually toggle that history bar away
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
wait what
i can't actually toggle it away at all
less accidents for sure, but less usability too
it seems changing directions without using a turn is the only way to disable to history mode now 😄
anyway, try to utilize the actionbar history to make this, you'll see what i mean
keyboard only
something strange happened. somehow my hotkey for mining stopped working. i checked right click menu, after which the hotkey started working again
the fun thing was, pressing the hotkey did actuate the actionbar button, it just didn't do anything at all
this happened after bulk refining a bunch of stuff, then moving and trying to mine
happened again
can't reproduce it deliberately though
looks like somebody else got a similar issue
i have the same issue for all of my hotkey after loading my save today (yesterday it worked fine)
When I updated yesterday autopicking items when walking over them didnt work. I couldnt find where to enable it again.
i think autopicking was disabled by design, i.e. you can make "pickup all" action in your actionbar and enable auto-use for it when you want, but it's going to take an extra turn now to grab stuff
I used a health item first time. In crafting menu now its values are revealed (heal and heal other) 👍
But after using "heal other" on a never used Healing item will not reveal its values after that. Maybe its on purpose
uh, picking up items is definitely taking a turn, because i can see decay progressing when i pick stuff
I just realized today i received not a single rune while playing
there's no drops in the starting territory anymore
are you staying there?
(near your original spawn)
Yes
And have issues with the action bars. When pressing the number the action will not be done, even if the slot Shows an animation. When I click the action with the mouse then it works
Auto use works too. After restart or just at random they start working again
Its not at "hovered tile" or smth. It just works, and then dont
yep, this one is known
