R.I.P to old suggestion with a loss of 90 upvotes.. (not much but I was proud!!)
Have you ever tried to kill a player, and some random dude third parties and steals it? Well, you're not alone! I propose a simple fix: make kills count not by last hit, but by total damage dealt. Take bosses for example, you deal the most damage and you get a trophy, which is simple right? If only the developers implement this well-needed addition for players too!
This would not only help with certain masteries that need kills (such as Alchemist and Army), but also be a double-edged blade for DOS, which wouldn’t let them killsteal but reward them if they actually work for the kill! (would slow down early dos progression, which in turn would make Operator badge almost like it's former glory)

- If a player does the most damage but they die or the opponent heals, it still counts toward total damage applied.
