If you bring aether catalysts, you definitely want to go to the cosmic altar every chance you get, because polycatalytic essence is great for getting catalytic points. There are 8 catalytic altars, so there's a 1/8 chance of cosmic being an option. It turns out that a 1/8 chance of polycatalytic is about equal to the 2 inventory slots overall, so on points per hour it's basically a wash. If you have the level and access to the catalysts and you value aether runes higher than cosmic runes, it's basically 0 time to craft them during GotR if you were going to play GotR anyway.

It gives blue cells, but 60 poly stones with a blue cell is better than 60 normal stones with a red cell. And you're only giving up a red cell if the other option is the fire altar.

main thing is loss of 2 inv slots and the rarity of it being 1/8 though, think it isn't efficient for pts at all

worth doing if u need aether runes as an iron though
it's less bad in mass games where the cells aren't giving much pts since most things are fully upgraded. In small teams like duos though the cells give a lot of points for making guardians and upgrading barriers so getting medium cells over the potential fire/earth overpowered/strong is also tapping into pts more

if ur willing to be that sweaty u probs wanna be doing small team gotr and in that case could drop the chisel instead of destroying essence

with this inv and npc contact at bank which is perfectly duable for masses, you only lose 1 inv space for choosing to do aether runes, but even if you lost 2 and did the npc contact inside game aether runes would still be worth it.

Aether runes are very nice in gotr \o/ can very often hit total point cap in mass worlds. Plus i fyou're an iron, an excuse to use/make your catalysts

think you only get like 0.75 cosmic altars you can hit per game but can sorta boost it a bit with some waiting if only couple seconds for another altar
entering a nature altar e.g. and waiting before crafting for next altar and leaving for cosmic is worth it if you have time to afford
extra 30 cata pts is quite a bit
in small teams though or situations where u can use cells for barrier upgrades/placing or guardians will be bit dif potentially since time lost can potentially mean less cell runs and cosmic is medium. In mass though you basically never get as good points off cells so the aether runes is big

another small thing - make sure portal talismans are enabled for the cosmic altar. you can sometimes craft an extra load or two of aether runes if you get lucky with them
