I do it for max AFK, since most of the time im doing wyverns on mobile or when doing shit around the house

but if you plan to be more active you can bring bloodfury + bandos (assuming you a rich main)

and several divine pots

So I'd rather bring for faster kills

worth noting the long tailed wyverns only attach with melee and icy breath (not often, max of 10 with shield) so can protect melee and afk heaps

Yeah not sure why everyone thinks spitting is the weakest/best, when long-tailed literally only uses 1 style outside of breath

I'm convinced it's because of this one throwaway line on the wiki that has no reasoning behind it

correct me if I am wrong, but here was my conclusion when i looked into it:

long-tailed/spitting/taloned are all very similar, but the ancient wyvern barely has an increased drop rate while taking almost twice as long per kc; so if going for the wyvern visage, definitely avoid the ancient wyvern if you're trying to save time

among the 3 weaker wyverns:

all 3 have the same hp/defensive stats, drop table and rates for the wyvern visage, with the only notable difference being their combat mechanics
-long-tail will only melee (max 13)
-spitting will range & melee, but at ranged it will only range (max 13)
-taloned will range & melee, and uniquely the ranged attack cannot be protected by prayer (max 10/12)

therefore, which wyvern you wish to kill depends on combat style/strategy you are using to minimize incoming damage
-if you plan to be in melee distance and camp protect from melee, do long-tail
-if you plan to be outside of melee distance and camp protect from missiles, do spitting
-if you plan to facetank without protection prayers, do taloned
