#Random Character feels weighted?

Just played 10 games of 2v2 with my friends, all picking random:

  • Chuck: 7
  • Zook: 7
  • Sofia: 5
  • Froggy: 5
  • Rock: 5
  • Skinny: 3
  • Bishop: 2
  • Kitsu: 2
  • Anna: 1
  • Jiro: 1
  • Eve: 1
  • Jiro: 1
  • Kat: 0
  • Teevee: 0
  • Sashimi: 0
  • Kiddo: 0

One player had Chuck 4 times, one player had Zook 4 times.

I know random won't result in an even distribution in small samples, but it felt pretty crazy that we had a Chuck and Zook in almost every single game and it was the same player in half of those.

Might be worth some sort of pick tracker in the game manager that weights characters that haven't been seen.

assuming your data is correct that is a cooked distribution. did a chi squared test and its around 0.2% chance 💀

I feel like I get Teevee every second time I go random

We got to the same conclusion. haven't actually noted things down but one of my friends have only ever used random and he's like lvl 7 on some of them and then lvl 0 on others. he also has complained about getting the same characters, i also hadn't gotten froggy once while playing random so i went ahead and picked him one match and now i get him every third match or so. i actually just got him 3 times in a row right now.

it feels like its based off of either how recently you've played someone or how many times you've played them

seems like a reasonable distribution, as far as i can see the only thing that would skew it is if you don't have access to the character

Could it be weighted towards characters you play less? I said before I get tv a lot, and I basically never play him otherwise

And I feel like I very rarely get chars I play a lot
