Eve ultimate sometimes does nothing

Ive noticed that sometimes (rarely), eve's ultimate ability does absolutely nothing besides for showing up visually

ye sometimes ive noticed it only shows up visually but otherwise does no slow or damage or freeze

its super duper rare ive only had it happen a handful of times

theres a chance zook might have something to do with it because i remember it usually happening with zook mines around but im not sure

It doesn't really do much anyway

It does almost no damage, then makes the target invincible

it allows you to time an attack and allows for your own cds to come off cooldown
if you know the other person has all their cooldowns or more of their abilities available than you it is advantageous to use it
it can also help in chasing
also in zoning them, encouraging them to move away from the ult to move them into a position more advantageous to you

also can freeze consumables like pizza to prevent oppponent from healing, jump pads to stop them from escaping, vending machines to stop the from getting consumables, etc.

i know that with sofia if she counters then walks onto the mines they wont explode
did that happen or did it happen with another character
idk if it is the same with sofia and eve ult
