It’s because you have GFWL.reg

Remove the file and then retry.

Your directory is clearly having some files which it shouldn’t have.

it's just a hash check in which only the exe file is involved

In your case this happens because there are unusual files in the directory that are not expected to be in a fresh copy like gta4Browser.exe, DFA.dll, play.dll, gfwl.reg and commandline.txt

Yes. Because it should also check if there are any mods already installed which may cause errors later on or any other modified file that can fuck with gta iv

i see, well, not tryna be a dick but hash mismatch is a bit misleading then in a such case where the hash is correct but there are unknown files in the folder

its probably not broken, yknow the "unknown" files you had were leftovers from your gfwl copy

the downgrader already replaces them with the new ones

im not sure, can you try deleting or renaming the GTAIV folder in both AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\ and Documents\Rockstar Games ?

For me TBoGT was broken and TLaD crashed when loading.

If I replace anything in IV's vehicle files, it crashes the episodes but not the main game
