#Death bat - Shield Bug?

Does Death Bat make two hits on the Shield? If not, this is a bug. I experienced several instances when a Death Bat hit my car while the shield is about to end, I heard the sound of shield blocking it, but my driver was knocked out of the car. So unless a single Death Bat makes two hits on the shield, this is a bug.

I would provide a recording if you provide a feature to replay/record the game after completing it, like in 'Clash of Clans'. I can't practically record every single game looking for this to happen again.

Anyone else who have experienced it, kindly upvote.

Death bat consists of 2 different attacks:
First stage is burning the drivers passed (consumes 1 shield)
Second stage is crashing the first place driver (also consumes 1 shield)
If youre first with 1 shield remaining your shield will only block the burn infliction but not the crash

If that's how the mechanics are intended to be, that's exactly the issue. It contradicts its own description.

Description says it burns other cars that get in its way. The first-place car isn't 'in its way'. It's the one being hit.

'Trail' also implies that the effect is behind the Bat, not in front of it.

The way I see it is, the word "trail" is more of an accessible misnomer... the death bat is actually surrounded by a rounded cone that applies the fire effect

Death Bat increases speed when it's about to hit. Pausing the game in that interval need millisecond level accuracy.

And even if your theory is correct, everytime the shield saved me from a Bat, I would have heard double 'block' sound and visuals, which never has happened.

And what do you think about this? Is this the Trail of Death? It's not even 1metre, whereas description says it's 20m even at level 5.

It's also a decoration, just like the 'innermost cone'

From my understanding though, the first position is immune to the fire. I've never had it consume two shields. And once it does its final lock-on, it stops at nothing, even if you're telezorped backwards

It went past as I took an alternative route. Shield didn't take a hit.

I think there's something preventing the player from catching fire if they're not on the main path. Otherwise on tracks with bridges there would be issues

In an instance yesterday, I had the shield about to end but it perfectly blocked the Death Bat.

In another instance, just when the a BigBang or Death Bat was about to hit, my remaining shield was neutralized by a timely common powerup like Lunar Gravity.

This second one should be the most possible explanation for me hearing the shield block sound and Death Bat hitting me, giving an illusion of Death Bat killing through shield. It must have been a common powerup blocked just before it hit.

Update: This time I witnessed the 'Death bat blocked by shield' symbol, but my driver was KO-ed inspite of the block. My car was speeding using a rocket boost and my shield was about to end. There is apparently some transition zone between "Shield: present" and "Shield: absent" where this happens

Update 2: I think I got it. It has happened for the third time since the last update. Whenever I'm under a speed boost AND the shield is about to end AND the Death Bat hits my shield, the shield blocks, as is evident by the visual representation and the sound, but my driver gets knocked out.
