your crosshair placement is definitely subpar, however, so is that of most people in low elo so thats not the real issue. Low headshot percentages are usually not a bad thing if they happen due to playing certain guns or spraying through smokes etc. but in your case it´s a combination of unideal crosshair placement (needs to get fixxed eventually, but again, totally normal for your rank) and honestly just pure laziness. Look back at that deathmatch again. You don´t aim. Whenever your crosshair is somwhere on or even near your oppponents body you just start shooting without moving your crosshair even while moving (you are supposed to move your crosshair the when strafing so as to end up on the same spot again or keep track of the target if they´re also moving). You seriously need to start moving your mouse during gunfights and go for headshots! It´s so much faster to kill someone with a bullet to the head than with some lousy bodyshots that you whiff 75% of because both of you are moving
Also, take some time with your first shot. You missed some easy kills in the dm because you thought you´re playing a skrim and the opponent is going to 180 headshot you if you don´t obliterate them in <300ms. Relax, your enemies are not TenZ. Just line up a nice shot and either hit the headshot (which you should) or make 100% sure that all 4 of your bullets will hit their body
I want you to start going for 1 taps only in your deathmatches, your first bullet should 100% have the intention to deliver a one tap to the opponent. Keep going for headshots after that too, but as long as you´re trying your earnest for that first shot it´s also fine to kill them with bodyshots afterwards for the start.
tysm! ill try that in a dm now
it makes a lot of sense now that i rewatch but i didnt consider that i wasnt aiming
no problem! Also, don´t be discouraged when it doesn´t work out at first. It´s kind of tough to find the right timing between rushing your shots and taking too much time to shoot when you´re starting out on improving this aspect, especially in DM´s where people react faster than in comp games
at 11:05 are those your default smokes for B site on icebox when full hitting a site? Because being exposed to nest is really risky, especially with a reyna on the enemy team who can dismiss after getting a quick pick
yeah, bc noone ever seems to peek nest
also in general, you should give comms.
If there´s toxic teammates on your team then mute them but it´s important to give comms because not giving them like ever will hold you back like at least 200rr if your communication is solid.
It´s tough to consistently have good games when there´s always some other random clown on your team who´s trying to call plays because sometimes they´re going to give good calls and sometimes they will be horrendously bad so trying to call the shots yourself will be the most consistent . Not to mention that your teammates miss out on a ton of information
tbh I´m not familiar with the deafult smokes for B site on Icebox because I used to just play viper on this map before the nerfs and now I´m playing duelist but I´m pretty sure that usually you should smoke nest and snowman and have a teammate hold the peek from mid for the planter. You´ll start getting punished for not smoking nest once you climb a little
by comms are death callouts enough or do you mean a pre round plan
ideally both but death comms are the minimum imo. I also only give pre rounds when I feel like I´ve got a cracked plan or when I need a teammates utility to make the play that I want to make (for example asking sova to dart B main for me on Ascent to spam it with an odin)
don´t buy full util with clove on pistol. Having a gun is more valuable than having a second smoke and your decay thingy or heal. Just buy one of the two depending on which play you want to make (for example buy the decay thingy if you want to toss it into a smoke and spam it with the ghost or buy the heal if you´re planning to play normally and outaim some enemies)
I´d suggest you watch a youtube video for the default smokes on Icebox. I used to watch videos like this back when I was learning how to play smokes and I´m sure there are still tons of them, I feel like you´re winging it a lot with your smokes instead of using smokes you´ve learned about from somewhere else
oh and never force secound round if thats not the call like in the first half. You need at least 3300 creds for round 3 to buy a vandal with light shield. Never go below that
are there any things you would recommend to practice in aimlab/range?
well your aim basically. I wouldn´t focus primarily on that though because I´d say your priority should be to start aiming in the first place so make sure to pay attention to that in deathmatches. I want you trying your very best to move your crosshair to the enemies head. Aside from that I´d say to focus on the other things I´ve pointed out. Smoking good, buying with the team and giving comms can go a long way. When I initially hit plat I probably had worse aim than a lot of gold and maybe even silver players so don´t worry too much about your mechanics, you can win a lot of rounds in valorant by just being a team player
if you want to see just how bad my kill related stats were then look up bad iron player#bad on the tracker and look at ep6 act 2, my aim was terrible I´m telling you
Havnt watched vod yet but seeing team comp if I was somehow solo cloves smokes on icebox I'd say "hope u like A team cuz we are going there 12 times on attack"
tysm for everything!
afte rplaying some comp and dms, i feel like im panicking and rushing shots a lot, and my movement + aiming in movement is bad. any tips for this?
play dms and u arnt allowed to shoot until u count "2 Mississippi" just strafe side to side
Hopefully that ingrains in u that u have more time to lineup shots than u think u do right now
ty!
and is it viable to just do dms as practice, or to do the aimlabs routine / range stuff
Aimlabs and range are helpful for mechanics...dms are helpful for putting mechanic training into game and learning head height across the maps
Aimlabs is stuff like "I suck at shooting ppl who are strafing back and forth" then u do aimlab drills that are specifically mimicking a person strafing back and forth
Or "I suck target switching" then u do drills that do click target switching
thanks
