I am fairly confident in my raw aim since I have a bit over 230 hours on aimlabs and have hit diamond with a few ascendant scores in the voltaic valorant benchmarks but against players ranked diamond and above I just can't seem to win my duels and specially struggle against people crouch spamming and insta-crouching since it's very unexpected. Since hitting diamond I have been negative in stats. I'm hoping to gain some insights on what I can improve to win my duels more consistently.

I found this VOD from your comment on a Radiant VOD. You asked if he could review your VOD, since he didn’t respond I thought I’d shoot my shot. The one thing I saw install upon watching the first few fights is your movement. I am pretty sure this is the NO1 thing holding you back mechanical wise.
I list up what you do when you shoot:

-You see enemy
-you start making baby jiggles left and right and shooting bursts between them
-you either get onetapped
-or you own them because your aim is really good

You should start making larger strafe movements left and right since this makes your head WAAAY harder to hit.
Imagine a player, barely moving left and right in contrary to a poppin swing. Which is easier for you to kill?

The first example of someone using a larger strafe against you was at 1:44. You shot at the Harbor who then moved almost two steps to your right whilst you made a 4 centimetre jiggle. You eventually owned him because as I said in a bullet point „your aim is cracked“ but overall he souls have killed you. He eventually even won that DM while you placed in the last third of the leaderboard. I think that should be enough proof.
I have the need to proof my point here since my rank is lower than yours, so you might not take my advice seriously. However I do think that if the radiant happened to review your VOD he would have come to the same conclusion.
If you want I can post a DM VOD of me here as well for you to review me. 😀
Good luck on your grind mate. You got that

Nah all good dude, I just wanted a few fresh eyes to look at what I could be doing better. That same point is given to me by my friend who peaked immo 2. I really don't want to rely on my movement and only moving enough to dodge bullets but I think yea I could go for some longer strafes. The problem i'm having in doing longers strafes tho is that I still get one tapped 🥹 . Do you have a video recommendation on how I can improve my movement in gunfights? If I don't strafe, I get one tapped and If I do strafe, I get bodyshot to death when strafing far so I'm not sure anymore what to do.

Sure, post your vod mate so we can help each other out

I'd suggest the Woohoojin Movement Mastery series

Regarding movement, I've had a realization that not many pros do these ADAD strafing other than maybe aspas and/or tenz. I saw how SR Florescent plays and she aims and moves like demon1 and zekken which is pretty cool cuz they are all so cracked. What I've noticed is that they only move when their bullets miss and not in a consistent pattern of AD AD strafing. They aim while moving then full stop to tap or commit to a spray it's like what tenz was saying which works really well since their aim and first bullet accuracy is just almost perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d3dJaKv-9A I think people now are just accustomed to other people strafing and just holding in the midle of a strafe and predicting or reacting to when the enemy moves into their crosshair, by only moving enough to dodge bullets and either committing or tapping, it makes your movement a lot less predictable which throws off their predictive aim.

Idk, I was just kinda watching Flor do some dms where she absolutely destroys people ranked immo and and below and saw how she moves and takes advantage of her godly aim.

I think tenz was onto something with his movement analysis on shroud and aleksandar's movement because I think that's how people should actually move.

Ok I saw this video recently and thought it was quite interesting and while I do believe that larger strafes are more important and I do recommend doing them. If you are that interested in the way that the pros aim and you want to work on your fist bullet accuracy I recommend using this drill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh2y35jZa-Q&t=39s by Woohoojin. As personally that has helped with my first shot accuracy.

# gritty sigil I think tenz was onto something with his movement analysis on shroud and aleksan...

Ye the fun thing is, when I climbed out of bronze I used the 1 month to gold drills and one of them was exactly what shroud is doing. You got your enemies and then overflick or don’t flick at all and just use your movement to kill the bots in the range. I don’t think that way of aiming is something secret, I rather think it is style based. Some players may play like shroud and others rather play like sOmething and other players may mix that. Some are more spray heavy and others only use one taps, but what is not good imo is when you do like a baby jiggle before you shoot because at the end the of the day on the enemies screen you are basically standing still so you just can stand already.

yea, now i'm trying to only move when I miss my first shots but dang people are demons in dms and they can hit me even when I'm strafing wide. I also saw this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAc7WfDmtgY which could be a better video if they showed an example of how we should be aiming.
