Hello, i'm posting in this channel because i would like your guys advice and tips on how to improve and get to that sweet yellow rank, please flame me and point out every mistake you see, i generally think i did well this game but at times i made big mistakes in rounds such as the pistol round on attack where i pushed sage for no reason when i could have just played with my raze

Also, my duo raze was in a discord call with me but his voice wasn't recorded in the video so at times you guys might not know that info has been given

i would also like to add i only play cypher on SPLIT and no other map

Round 1
I would prefer my Cypher to rotate less and anchor sites more. You started off B, but since A became clear for attackers I would just rotate A because it is highly unlikely for the enemy team to actually execute B.
Take into account that your opponents are not less smart than you; I'm sure they are aware that A is clear.
Round 2
Pushing while strafing with 'W' never works
Round 3
I would prefer playing elbow instead of that one-and-done angle. When playing elbow you ensure that you're killing them if they hit your trip. I could be wrong
Round 4
Good round
Round 5
Maybe tell your team that leaning towards B when you're there isn't the best idea
Round 6
Good round
Round 7
Good round
Round 8
Good round
Round 9
Good round
Round 10
Good round
Round 11
Could've utilized cages a bit better
Round 12
Good round
Overall for defense
Make sure when pushing, try and use A or D as much as possible.
I've noticed that your crosshair loves being a bit above the perfect placement.
You like crouch spray with Vandal... A bit too much. From what I could tell you're a Phantom player, but make sure when you're using Vandal to tap and burst more.
Keep an eye on the map and tell your team if you feel like the positions should change.
Just because you started on B doesn't mean you should stay on B the entire round.

Round 13
Can't they crouch under that trip? lol
When on camera you don't always have to ping them, you can watch them and swing when you feel needed. I could be wrong
Then for some reason you went into your own cage, kinda threw
Round 14
Your crosshair placement when swinging angles needs a bit of work, could've killed Astra if aimed head level
Round 15
At 1:34 into the round you kinda baited your Raze, basically assuming he'll win the fight. He did, but you have to be there to trade him or even help him.
Your peek against Jett was by jumping on that box, it's a bad peek even against Vandal, although it's an okay position to hold from.
Round 16
Good round
Round 17
I don't really like your decision to go heaven alone, through such a small gap and a Sage.
Round 18
Let your duelists go first
Round 19
Crosshair too high
Overall for attack
I would like to see you lurk more. If the team goes A, you lurk B or mid (they didn't always wall).
More trades less going first.

A bit of a dull game, you didn't do much, but you were there when needed. I like watching games where it's a hard fought win or less, like 22/20 or something like that
Nice setups and lineups though

If you have any comments or if I'm wrong tell me

Games like these are hard to review I would rather a 13-8+ victory. If you can get me a vod like that ill review it

And not a team diff

That's not my point

Not a cypher main, but I've played him a fair amount earlier. Thought I'd point out things that stood out to me cuz if it stood out to a diamond, should stand out to an immo :D (take with grain of salt)

2:57 - you spot reyna but don't call it out to your raze as she rotates. she died for no reason 3:20 ;-; oh wait that's your duo too! D:
6:58 - maybe push closer to main to swing with your breach? I don't think you called out someone broke your main trip either. Sage spotted vents so it's probably safe for you to walk up to double swing/get in position to trade your breach. You also had a cage to block off heaven to be extra sure.
15:4 - if you're planning on playing retake, I don't think you need that one way or such aggressive trips. Your set up this round is more stall friendly. Just pointing it out in case you want to alter it for a different scenario. Retake friendly would probably trip backsite, or past the default plant box on site and cage there to discourage people from pushing in further and overheating, for example
16:40 - ... you have a cage. You have the something you're looking for. I'd consider caging mid right away before you tuck there. Would have given you information if they crossed.
21:20 - cage before shooting ult to isolate.
22:10 - I'd probably prefer playing around Elbow with this setup tbh. That way, paired with the cage you can get better value out of the A main trip. Have the breach play heaven instead. You can fall back and hold heaven with him if they get site, and you have a good cam for retake. If you decide to stay elbow instead, can still cage and get value out of a trip on site. You don't seem to be getting much value out of the ramps trip.
That's just my opinion though
Okay, so I just checked a Nats vod and he def seems to favor elbow, and has a better trip for heaven, better cams too. idk if you're following a different pro, but you should probably look into this.
Playing on site makes you slower on rotates and traps you too.

27:45 - I probably wouldn't pull out trip here. Esp with Jett op-ing. Not sure what the cage was meant to do here. A deeper cage covering CT entrance might be better.
32:15 - pop cage if you're reloading. Sage didn't die to brim ult meaning she pushed closer instead of falling back. Inconsequential this around, but wasted trip in sewers.
33:45 - I'd probably get close and cage that so sage can wall safely. She's untradable rn. I'd also probably instantly cage after baiting that OP shot but idk. Unlucky, and def should have let raze go ahead.
35:04 - I'd probably go heaven with raze here. You don't get much value from being on site as cypher on attack. Staying heaven/ramps lets you watch flank and also maintain heaven control for post plant + trade your raze in this scenario.

Thanks everyone for the tips

np!

oh, and try and use a phantom if you can. Split generally has shorter range fights compared to other maps, and you'll be spraying through smokes and cages quite a bit as cypher. The phantom lets you do it more safely without the tracers imo

fair enough. I just assumed at your level of play, the tracers would be a much bigger deal cuz your opponents should be better at being able to trade you through the smoke because of them. Your call though, vandal taps def feel better
