#Server/Client Mismatch With Same Version?

My friends and I are playing CABIN on a server with some extra mods added on and when another friend tried to join they got this error? I can't figure out where the "CABIN" mod is in the folders to download off the server and give to my friend so they have the """same""" version.

#

Obligatory log

That is usually due to a wonky installation (either client or server) that missed the kubejs scripts

#

What launcher is your friend using? Did they try reinstalling already? How was the server setup? Does it have the kubejs and all the contents of the overrides folder from the server version of the pack?

Curseforge, yes, a server hosted via magmanode, it has kubejs, overrides folder was missing most of the mods but I had assumed those were redundant rather than required

The server files are in a zipfile. Go into the overrides folder in the zipfile, extract the files, and add all of those files and folders to the server.

We've modified our CABIN pack with some other mods since we've started and haven't updated from the version we first installed so idk how the server would be missing ldlib folders unless they were somehow missing in our initial install

From the limited information found in your posted logfile, the connection appears to be rejected due to either the client or server missing the water strainer block:

    minecraft:recipe_serializer: mbd2:strainer
    minecraft:item: mbd2:strainer
    minecraft:block_entity_type: mbd2:strainer
    minecraft:block: mbd2:strainer```
#

I am assuming this is the issue. The latest.log file typically provides very little information on why connections are rejected.

I just checked the server, it has multiblocked2 and the ldlib folder in it, so I assume what must have happened is when I exported my pack from curseforge to send to my friend, it dropped some amount of the game files instead of actually doing its job and exporting all the necesary files

#

yeah when I export the pack from curseforge the mods folder in overrides only has 2 mods in it

vocal walrus
#

When you import it again, curseforge should download all of the other mods.

celest quest
#

I exported it and reimported it, it gives me this

vocal walrus
#

That does happen. Something important is missing between the server and client.

What are the obvious candidates that I can try syncing from the server manually by just downloading the server version and putting it into the client?

vocal walrus
#

I've seen this before, but I've never seen a debug.log from anyone with this error. The only way I've seen others fix it is by reinstalling the server from the zip or reinstalling the client.

#

You could try this:
On the server, remove the kubejs and ldlib folder. Copy over the kubejs ldlib configs defaultconfigs``resourcepacks and mods folders from the server zipfile to the server using FTP access. When prompted, overwrite any files on the server.

#

You might also need to purge your world folder.

the files are currently transferring over. Idk why my client can connect but this exported one is refusing to work smoothly

#

Ok, files transferred over, but still the same error

vocal walrus
#

So your client can connect, but someone else with the exported one cannot connect, is that correct?

celest quest
#

correct

#

I dont think I did anything special to it so I'm not sure what the difference is

I don't know enough in regards to how curseforge exports modified modpacks. Did the other players install it with curseforge or with something else like prism launcher?

celest quest
#

They imported it as a zip via curseforge

vocal walrus
#

Without the debug.log from the other player, I can't exactly say what went wrong, but you could try this:
Remove config defaultconfigs kubejs ldlib and resourcepacksfrom the exported zipfile. Copy those folder from your client into the zipfile, and have the other players reinstall with that zipfile.

#

I can't promise you this will work. I am assuming that the modifications you've made to the modpack aren't making it into the exported profile.

celest quest
#

Ok that worked

#

thanks for all your help

#

Hopefully it works when I send the files over to my friend

are the other mods also on curse forge? cuz I also added other mods and the easiest solution I found was to have my friends install cabin on its own then get install links to curseforge for the extra mods by right clicking on install with curseforge and copying the direct link to the exact version file and giving them that link, then installing it to the cabin profile they have

#

Then just pop them into a list for them to do after cabin is initally installed

Some of the mods are on curseforge, but some were on modrinth. We've also slowly accrued more mods than it'd be reasonable to add link by link
