#E2EU Server from The 1.12 Modding Coalition
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
YOOOOO it WORK
also, upon logging in, i realized all of the xp orbs were around the xp pylon you gave me last nigh
and the pylon was 944,100/1,000,000, it was just under max when i left it
so uhhhh im gonna break that
But yeah I had to /kill @e
let's hope nothing of value was lost lol
F to those questing rams
As a bonus it killed the forestry saplings that were crashing the server
However rip the questing rams and someone's tinker tools
As well as a dragon's head somewhere
...oh.
It's the one on the End Ship
Nothing lost
Oh wow
Abode products are in a quantom state of being both awesome and shit at the same time
And i should make the thumbnail text gray
Schrodinger's awesomeness
Hmmm, there’s a strange TPS issue I can’t put my finger on
R-clicking on inventories take a couple seconds to show up, that’s all
It could just be on my side though, been having some internet problems lately
Yeah it’s prolly that
I've been having that too
I had that issue when I used Bisect but not Apex
BisectHosting is cheap but laggy
Might be a good idea to get Spark, it’s a really good profiling mod
Could just be bisect tho ye
I know from experience tho
It's Bisect that lags like shit
Once I used Apex it stopped lagging completely
No way in hell a bisect server can run Nomi past IV
Specs are fine for vanilla
Modded?
Lmao no
Lol epic
Niiiice one
did that kill botania sparks
Aren’t those tile entities? Or am I mistaken
Idk, I don't touch Botania
But I'll have to fix up the base when I get back
Damned Cyclic
yea i think botania sparks are entities
Oh they are, mine are gone lol
Damn
Oh shit lol @red nebula it’s still peaceful

Really
worldgeneration from exploration
Bisect moment
It’s back up btw, working fine other than bisect
Hopefully bisect fixes their shit soon, cuz that was inexcusable lol
that's not a botania spark
that's a psi light
turn it off for now
Creative EU is crafting rn
we're getting extremely close to vending.
If you really want to play without watchdog just damn disable it

Watchdog also catch other task so even the server is running normal it can cause crash
Just enable it when it is needed (like server frozen for long period or something)
increase the max tick time
Not sure how to do that - how do I?
it's in server.properties
the default is 60000 which is the 60 seconds you see in the crash report
I see
you can disable the tick time by setting it to -1 but i don't think that's a good idea
Apparently my network’s upload speed is fucked up, that’s why it’s near-impossible to do anything even with 100ms ping
Set max-tick-time in server.properties to -1
Ok I just did and the server is getting it now
It prevents that the server crashes because Ticks need too long, so I'd suggest watching the server sometimes if it's lagging too much and restart if needed to resolve some lag
And maybe, clear once in a month or two months all loaded chunks from FTBu to clear out old chunkloaded bases

Turns out my ISP was just doin some maintenance, all good now lol
So nvm
Nice
@red nebula how did you automate them, btw?
Pulling together a list of singularity automstion methods
I just input the items via a conduit and ME interface
Aka the "I want a cover" option
But yeah I'm checking out oceanblock and groaning at the singularities
Every fucking pack man
you know what would be nice? outside of just outright removing singularities
good ae2 automation for em
set item, set how much of that item you want as input, set output
also implementing this to exc https://github.com/Nomifactory/ExtendedCrafting/issues/27
wait
that gives me an idea
oh nvm
It should be a mode instead I think
I really don't like singularities as a concept; it's just get X amount of an item. It's rather boring and uncreative.
Too many packs use them
nice
That's a biiiig chunk of the cost out
IT IS CRAFTING
eks dee
@red nebula get some base pics and put em in #mainmenu-submissions
Try removing potion effects (or using replay mod)
Dump some in #mainmenu-submissions
sure
erm
lol
@hollow mason Server is back up
This was fun... Heh. Finally putting e2e to rest as well.
@red nebula the server is doing that thing again where nothing loads, but it's not crashing cuz i assume you extended that limit from before
instead i just time out, and now i'm "still on the server"
@lament leaf
my bad knife i didn't see you were offline at the time of pinging - zonko is DND right now ¯_(ツ)_/¯
ima try to restart it
yeah i would definitely undo this - it's 1200 by default, so you could make it 6000 or 12000 if you want
it's possible we're facing a similar issue from before, so crashlogs or logs would be helpful just in case
we'll see if it fixes upon restart tho
though it backed up when i joined, hopefully that didn't screw anything up
taking a while to start up...
it never takes this long, been roughly 12 minutes or so
did it just crash when i tried to join while it was still starting?
or was the limit set to 10 minutes? that's probably it actually
server failed to start, oddly enough
are there any logs or crashlogs?
yeah still hasn't started, so i assume it needs to be manual
Uh oh.
any luck? still hasn't restarted yet
ah ok, no problem
never been, how is it?
So far so good though all I've done is check out how Siam Paragon changed over a year
I'm still fairly sick so no long distance trips for me I think
damn
yeah being sick sucks
I'm tempted to ask Zonko if I could be a server admin, since i'd probably be more available to fix server issues if/when they happen - i'm essentially always next to my laptop lol
plus, then knife or zonko wouldn't need to drop whatever they're doing just to help my dumbass lol
i don't wanna seem like an asshole tho, or a troll or smthn idk
Ah dang, maybe not then
Is there a permission system, or something similar? Like a way you can allow certain people to view logs and crashlogs and such, but not do server-op things like stop or restart the server? At least I could help diagnose issues
I doubt it, but I may as well ask just in case
I just wish I could help in some way, is all
oh wait, i thought you meant I had to pay to make an account
but i was mistaken, i just made one lol
username is just "Cephelo", if you wanna add me to the admin list
i'm honestly surprised that hadn't been taken yet, usually it is for other services
i would ping zonko to ask, but i know it's almost 2am for him so i'll hold off
@lament leaf thoughts? up to you
hmmm
@red nebula are you still in thailand? my bad i don't remember if you said how long you'd be there
I'll be here for 3 more days
aite cool, no worries
it hasn't been up for two days lol
i can fix it myself tho, i think zonko said he'd add me as an admin if i made an account
i mighta misinterpreted this tho
6 seconds? zonko musta set it to 120 instead of 1200 or smthn
nc, maybe nuclearcraft?
THE FUSION REACTOR EXTRACTING ENERGY IN OUR BASE

Seriously?
How tf
Integrated Dynamics
or maybe something with multiblocked and/or thaumcraft, looking at the thread dump
wait huh
This is actually gonna need world downloading and unfucking
how can you tell?
ah, more than one crash
I can do this if you'd like
not sure if u can via phone lol
nah i mean i could access it myself from the panel
Try it
oh can only the owner add other admins?
I don't feel comfortable doing it on someone elses server without their explicit approval
Sorry
no worries yo
ah yeah, look like only the owner can https://www.bisecthosting.com/clients/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/27/How-to-give-Multicraft-panel-access-to-others.html
I forgot how to again @glad crest
Oops
max-server-tick properties
change it to 0
you only want to toggle it on vanilla, or when server start noticable hanging
toggle it on modded is like ded sentence to world gen and etc.

Because if we leave it off, when the server freezes and is unable to load, it won’t stop itself at all
but when will that happen?
Hanging indenfinitely when someone joins
I’ve had it happen twice now
Due to different crashes
The second is above
the tick is limited to 6 seconds
how can it related...
unless you mean it actually hang for hours
Here’s the first
Yup
That’s what happened after we turned it off, after the first crash happened
I had to ask zonko to restart the server, because when I tried to join, I got timed out after a few minutes
And it showed I was still “on the server”, even though I clearly wasn’t
So yeah, disabling that timer is not a good idea
Though I agree it shouldn’t be 6 seconds lol, 120 seconds (2400 ticks) should be good
Maybe zonko put 120 thinking it would be in seconds, not realizing it’s in ticks
Lemme find a hanging example
Yeah here
It was just that for 60 seconds before watchdog shut the server down
But the second time, when watchdog was disabled, it never shut itself down - it only shut down after I asked zonko to do it manually
@lament leaf since Knife is unable to fix the world, I could do it myself if you’d like
I think it’s we’re coming up on 2 full days of being offline? But I know I can fix it lol
By this i though you meant I had to pay to make an account lol, I was mistaken
If you’re willing, my bisect username is “Cephelo”
Sorry if I’m being annoying or something, I think I have a hard time telling if I ping people too much lmao
Ive just been out of the house for multiple days
I found your name see if you got access
oh shit I see it now, nice!
thank you! i'll try my best to get this up and running within an hour or two
i do got some stuff to do today so i'll prolly play later tonight lol
Ok sweet
looking thru the logs, it looks like it's a multiblocked fluid hatch causing the issue
every single error being spammed in the log file contains "java.lang.IllegalStateException: null definition set: mbd:fluid_hatch"
so ima see if i can find its coordinates, and if so, change the NBT data of where that block it to be something else
that, or i'll open another world and see what the "default" state should be, and just change the state data itself
cuz i can change nbt
So any bisect account works?
Any premium bisect account yeah
contrary to the name, you don't need to pay to make one
Also i'm having trouble with this - i need to open some region files and poke around, but i can't seem to find a program that works for me
I would use MCEdit, but I have an M1 mac and it won't open
yeah ok i've been trying to get this online VM to work for about 2 hours now and nothing is happening
so ima get parallels later today or tomorrow, and then i should be able to fix this
Finally got a chance to get Parallels, so if I find what i'm looking for in the region files I should be able to get the server up and running either tonight or tomorrow
Alright i may have found a solution
When testing in a singleplayer world, apparently the issue just fixes itself if you join the world near the issue twice in a row. First time the issue will still crash, but not the second time.
I'm gonna try putting myself to creative and teleporting to the coords, and try the same thing - if all goes well, i should have the server ready to go within the hour
I don't know what I did, but the server just works now
apparently the watchdog timeout time was 6 seconds, which is very short - this meant it was essentially impossible for the server to start lmao
but i changed it to 60 seconds and it worked
no idea what happened to that other bug ngl
so yeah @red nebula i guess the issue fixed itself? weird
I wonder if it was happening because the watchdog time was made too short
but i really got no idea
the default is 60000 - 60 seconds
6 seconds means it was set to 6000
can confirm
prolly thought it was ticks - 6k ticks is 5 mins
1 min prolly better tho
hmmm
it's the second time today that the server has crashed because it's doing too much stuff
first time, 2 hours ago
here's a spark reading i did a few minutes before the second crash https://spark.lucko.me/TXjr2owGT8
and here's the second crash, just a few minutes ago
before it crashed, i saw on the dashboard that there were something like 400-600 chunks loaded, which doesn't seem right at all - i'm staying in my little compact machine, only occasionally moving dimensions, but shouldn't it be unloading those dimensions once i leave?
TPS was suffering before each crash too, getting down to 11 and even 10, so i know it's not on my side
so maybe someone's base has a lot of loaded chunks for some reason? That, or they aren't unloading correctly
aaaaaaaand it crashed a third time when i tried to join - I moved to Pansmith's base to inspect if there were any loaded chunks there right before the second crash
here's the third
oh it's just watchdog nvm
if it happens again i'll just extend the time
watchdog closed the server again, ima stop it and peek at the logs
fourth crash if anyone's interested
seems like something with an item collision box is stalling the server
this is present in the second, third, and fourth crashes, but not the first, so i'm pretty sure this is what's causing it
once again something at pansmith's base is bricking the server
ic2.core.util.PriorityExecutor$FixedPriorityQueue is continuously mentioned in the thread dumps, interesting
I tried to find the IC2 source code for some clues as to what uses FixedPriorityQueue, but it's not open source
last time the server got bricked like this it fixed itself anomalously, so ima try restarting and see what happens
doesn't look like it
i'll just try teleporting myself elsewhere via trial and error so pansmith's base isn't loaded, will probably fix itself
since last time this happened, the bug was also occurring in pansmith's base, and i was spawning far away from it
erm uhhh @red nebula idk what happened but yo overworld base got FUCKED UP
may I kill all these item entities? cuz holy fuck
I'll peek around ur base and see if i can find anything making a shit ton of items
lmao
oh fuck it's climbing again
ima have to get in there quick
aite server is back at it
idk what was making the items, but they're gone now lol
somebody skimped out on void upgrades
(Me)
so i found what the items where
SAND
THOUSANDS OF SAND
ima locate that shit cuz this is the ninth time i've done kill @e[type=item] lmao
why do people never use void upgrades? 😩
i bet it's an aquamarine shale setup
ok there are two separate chunks that keep having their items increase dramatically, and every time i arrive at one, that chunk's item count plummets, and the other one starts going up
so theres some weird shit goin on with chunks unloading or smthn
that being said...
here's one of the chunks
and wouldya look at that, SAND
coming out of an automatic precision dropper fed by material stonework factories, presumably making sand
though for some reason, said factories are unpowered, so idk how they're making sand that the dropper is dropping
AHA
THE CULPRIT
actively dropping sand, i assume when left alone for long enough, you get thousands
since i'm assumings item's dont clump together when 'dropped' in unloaded chunks
yup
also i discovered one of the factories was still active so i'm turning all of those off too
alright, hopefully this solves the issue lmao
i'll keep monitoring the entity counts just in case
mystery solved
what the fuck
my player data got reset
my entire inventory is gone except for my cosmetic armor and astral data (they have different playerdata files)
i got kicked cuz the daemon shat itself and i guess my playerdata got corrupted????
well that's it, i'm done with the server
fuck this
restore from backup?
I though about it, and I do kinda wanna, but at this point I think I should move on
I got a space station up and it was nice to do so, I had essentially just finished it
Gave me some good ideas too
But I think I’m done with E2EU for now, I’ve been slacking on a lot of work I’ve been meaning to do for a while now
I also hate the fact that machine structures need full signalium energy cells to craft, wtf
That and titanium fabrication where the biggest things holding me back in AR, for mediocre reward all things considered
Truth be told, I think I’m getting tired of these “just keep progressing until you have creative items” modpacks. They have no real direction, and rely on the player knowing what they’re doing for anything to be fun
And when it’s not fun, it’s grindy
I’ve been wanting to make a modpack or two with a very different purpose for a while now, and some mod ideas too that I’ve been wanting to take a crack at
It’s just gotten old, is all
Though I am proud of what I had accomplished, E2E is just “put all the mods together and change some recipes” and add quests
I’ve probably sunk 400 hours into that server
Yeahhhh I didn't find Titanium that hard because I didn't grind,I set up processing lines and had AE2 be around to either process those items passively
What expert packs should do and teach a player is how to make production lines, not grind.
You'll need to automate crafting all the energy cells, and that tests your automation skills for every major techmod
Esp resonant
E2E suffers from a lack of teaching players to automate; I did warn you about needing to get autocrafting up and passiving stufg asap
Nomifactory makes it more or less mandatory
Netherrack does have a non-mystical aggri recipe but is rather slow, that one should tell you the value of decentralized processing lines
And parallelization
IF lasers are sucky in 1.12 tbh but they are the main way of getting ender amethysts in the End
As well as the only way of reliably getting saphires; which should tell you that you do need to make one of those
But the guide isn't good at pointing it out
E2E doesn't lead you to building infra which sucks
I remember my first two E2E playthroughs where I played like you did
I burnt out soon after AR as well
Though in my case I grinded to creative tank and then burnt out
AE2 not having a chapter in the original E2E really fucked it over imo
It also doesn't tell you that fluix can be made in the crystal growth chamber
Which you need to do for the singularity
Something completely optional is passive production of every main machine frame
Either from base materials or UU-matter
yeah passive autocrafting and processing lines is something i didn't do - i only did a processing line for calcium sulfate for elite plates and that's it, tho u had to put in sulfur and flourite manually
oh and draconium and awakened draconium seeds in garden cloches
truth be told, i like working with my hands and crafting stuff on my own, but i'll agree that it gets to a point where it becomes toilsome - I had hit that point about a week ago by then lol
I think the biggest reason I avoided making such passive processing lines is cuz I thought it'd just be more work and wouldn't be getting me towards my goals, since i wasn't going for creative items. Not to mention it'd be a lot of work and space to get all of those machines set up, you'd almost need autocrafting for the machine parts at that point. Which yes, I know, work your way up from basic machine crafting ingredients and go from there exponentially, but at that point, getting the autocrafting completely set up would be grindy itself.
oh and i did get all the machine frames scanned so i could replicate them via uu, that def saved me time
and 5x ore yield via mekanism
Yeah I didn't bother replicating them passively
And btw 4x is way faster than 5x
I only had one 5x up for draconium
not if you have 4 crystallizers, or more
8
i'll admit i only had one lmao, i was working in a really tight space
It needs 8 crystalizers and you can't autocraft them easily due to nbt mek bullshit
Something Threefold taught me was to not ever constrain yourself in a space
So I always end up basing underground since making more space is just digging a bigger hole
Overall though, remember that autocrafting is always worth it.
It's a grind to get it but it saves you a lot of manual crafting and tells you exactly what you're running short on
For fluids though I don't use the fluid rework most of the time and just use more machines
One per fluid
yeah i put almost all of my machines into a 13x compact machine lol
i just liked having my own private "dimension"
though in retrospect, I probably could have completed this with advanced rocketry space stations ... that is, if machine frames didn't take full signalium cells to craft ... and then i'd have essentially infinite space to work with, while still having my own realm
ngl the way i arranged stuff in that little 13x space was kinda impressive
I like tetris-ing stuff like that, I like having all my stuff take up the least space possible
you know what, i'll join the server in spectator and get you a screenshot so you can see what i was working with lol
i'll admit though, it was fun while i was there
though personally, I think this is the problem with some packs
to progress, you either need to grind, or set up automation that will grind for you
it's just because you need so much materials, at any given point, for no particular reason other than to take more effort
that's why i don't think i would like nomifactory
Truth be told, I want a pack with a goal that isn't just "progress until you get top tier items", something with actual game design and a real direction to follow
minecraft itself isn't really a game with actual game design and a real direction to follow
True
That’s where modmakers and modpack makers come in
and make it worse xd
Lmao yeah
Lotta mfs out there who just don’t know what they’re doing
Not saying I do tho
kinda proud of this ngl, even if it looks like a nightmare
i can point everything out in here
oh yeah, i also figured out how to make infinite sulfur from cobblestone, so that's cool
ok, but on a sky platform more space is just a stack of cobble and a building wand
yeah looking back, i definitely could have automated a lot of things... for instance, steel and mek alloys
oh well
yeah that's fair too
I blazed through cuboid outpost because I automated literally everything
That sorta is the point of tech packs, I'd suppose for an actual game like that you'd go for factorio or satisfactory or maybe even stardew valley?
in factorio and satisfactory you progress until you get top tier items too
you could try and maximize rockets per minute in factorio for fun, but in minecraft it would be kinda boring at best, and horribly laggy at worst
stardew valley is a farming collectathon, so that's not really a direction to follow
I didn't do much in DE, but yeah i manually crafted my draconic cores
I had all the materials i needed for a tier 8 energy core, and i was gonna put it on a different planet, then boom, inventory gone (it was in a backpack)
oh i already miss these
simpler times
you likely overloaded your nbt data
and the funny thing is that I didn't get awakened draconium seeds until I needed them for vending
I actually got ae2 to autocraft awakened draconium
💀
2 seeds got me 6 stacks of awakened draconium blocks in less than 72 hours
Garden cloches and sped-up sewage, that’s the way to go
You can actually see it in this first image here, near the top right corner
yeah, that's an oof on my part
I want to apologized for my actions
As I am pausing my E2EU journey indefinetly everyone is free to take my stuff
For those who got access to the server command console you could host a new server
