This just happened today after no updates to my game, system, or mouse itself:
It appears that the cursor isn't properly captured in the window (looks like it's flashing in and out of existence) meaning I have to spam-click to select things in the menu and it's preventing me from entering vehicles (so game is unplayable). However there is no issue outside of menus that require use of the cursor.
I have tried verifying game files, clearing cache, checked scaling in windows display settings (still at 100%), obviously tried a full system restart as well and also tried another game that also uses UE5. Nothing has solved the issue. FYI it is a wired mouse and working fine on everything except Squad.
Tried searching for solutions on forums etc. but nothing seems to work or to be the describing the same issue.

here is a video showing the issue. Had to trim down a lot to meet the 100mb limit but it shows the issue clearly
Further information that may help:
Before today I'd have to alt-tab to move the cursor to my second monitor/another window, now the Squad application doesn't capture the cursor at all (regardless of display mode).
When I have a different window focussed and mouse back over squad the cursor appears correctly and works correctly until it's focussed again (i.e. the first click).
I'd love to not have to reinstall so if anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it
Aaaaand lastly - it only took about 45 minutes of troubleshooting then posting a thorough rundown here before considering that there could be a problem outside the system:
There was a controller connected that had been knocked to the ground, upside down and pushing slightly on the stick (thanks, cat) - didn't notice until I stood up as I'd forgotten it was connected anyway!
I'll lock this thread but let it stand as a monument to my idiocy. Enjoy!
Try to disable all other apps that are running on your PC
Disable antivirus software
like everything
Dont nuke windows anti virus
Cheers, but I "fixed" it. Problem was user incompetence (gamepad interfering with input due to nefarious feline activity). I thought I could close the thread but doesn't look like I've the permissions to do so.
