#Helis are unrealistic

I have to print this thread lmao
actually they are so fucking strong. heli tail-rotor should be damaged severely when shot by a 7.62 or higher, the glass is able to withstand a 30mm he shot? and a lat rocket should destroy the heli instantly. Helis are meta and need to be weaker or kept the way they are.
That's a bug that they like just refuse to fix like 5 years
It's not a bug, nor is it unrealistic. Striking water with the tail rotor irl can cause serious problems.
If anything it could be improved to rapidly take damage so that a small dip can be recovered from, but generally speaking such contact with water should damage the rotor very quickly.
More importantly the heli physics should be improved by making it so that loss of tail rotor can be recovered from using autorotation principles.

no u'
"takes damage when it touches water ever slightly"
I only did a catastrophic failure kinda sorta
🥺 👉 👈
That action can cause immediate and significant damage to a helicopter irl and result in them becoming a boat.
I already proposed a compromise in making it rapid damage instead of immediate disintegration.
Anything beyond that shouldn't happen.
Helicopter's lands in a puddle
Fucking dies
Yea that's clearly not a bug
I clearly remember that on harju on east side near the main was area where helicopter's was taking damage even if only wheels was touched by the water
And it's specificly that plase, on other maps with similar areas that doesn't happen's
I thought squad isn't a helicopter simulator
The rotor taking damage when it touches water is indeed not a bug thank you for playing
Maybe you should indeed take your "read again" advice because that's not the thread topic.
You missing the point....again, i thought owi fired all alternative developed ppl who thought ico was a good thing that doesn't need any improvement or roll backs
The irony of saying I missed the point when I point out you're talking about something offtopic
Yea still funny that you can blow up a helicopter by just landing it in a wrong puddle
And even more funnier is that owi can't fix it like 5 year's
Like ADS
I do not think that putting a rotor rotating at many thousand RPM into a high density fluid while doing so, resulting in mechanical damage is something unexpected and "buggy". In fact I would create a bug report when that would be possible without damaging the helicopter. Therefor I think most pilots are aware of the danger of water for their rotors and are avoiding getting into contact with it, there is no issue here imo.
I do not have personal experience with helicopters, but I know how problematic even the smallest foreign objects are for turbine aircraft and how much effort is put into avoiding having those objects on an airfield or even lying around in the hangar or the aircraft. Anything that is not supposed to getting into contact with aircraft engines is not gonna end well.

Yes its pretty much immediately catastrophic
was just looking for this to send lol
Why tf does a Heli lose its rear rotor and takes damage when it touches water ever so slightly
because this is literally the only thing you should expect to happen when you slap something spinning at thousands of RPM against the surface of water
thats not what I mean buddy. even if the Skids touch the water the Heli takes Damage
