Not long ago, Squad had an open public beta test for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Overall, I was quite satisfied with it, but there were two major issues: the Russian optics and the poorly designed MBT. Fortunately, the first issue has been resolved, but the MBT problem still remains — and here’s my concept on how to fix it.
Currently, the AFU in Squad has the T-64BM2, which in terms of characteristics is similar to the T-72B3. I propose doing the same thing you did with the T-90A — that is, adding a second, heavier tank, the T-84U. This way, the AFU would have two tanks, just like the US and Russia: one being weaker and available earlier, and the other stronger and appearing later.
Compared to the T-64BM2, the T-84U would feature improved armor with the “Duplet” protection system, capable of withstanding tandem warheads. It would also have a modernized sight and a better stabilizer. In addition, the T-84U has a quieter engine, as well as greater maneuverability and speed.
I believe the T-84U deserves to be in the game, as it would add more variety to Ukraine’s faction. The T-64BM2 represents a more traditional Soviet-style tank, while the T-84U, though also of Soviet origin, features more Western-style optics and stabilization systems.
