#Statement to Moidawgs latest video about Squad

What about the video
Maybe this?
https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtPyawSqfF4
The target audience that came from tiktok and YouTube shorts will play for 100-200 hours, realize that the game is in poor condition, leave the game, and then new discounts and a new influx of players who do not distinguish FOB from HAB
The quality of the game and players has been steadily declining since 2022, and the developers are doing nothing to stop it.
In my opinion owi is heavily sleeping on Their sucsess of ue 5 and new fractions.
But the people Like me who Play this Game for 3-5 years have fun on new fractions for 2 weeks.
The real thing we need is new Features.
Where Are the attack Helicopters?
Where Are Fast ropes?
New Game modes?
TC is bugged for years, now they change it.
But the new guys just happy with new Guns and vics…
He was the guy who told veterans to leave this game when u dont like the ico . Congratulition they moving to bf6 .
I dont blame them for that move, because ico is just an important Part of the Game
It is more about the Game dynamic didnt change for a year, same command assets, same 2 Main game modes, nothing new special
Thats how the people get bored
Idk who is guilty for that OWI or because Squad vets went for irl Squad in Eastern Europe)
I've been playing since the 19th year and I don't see any advantages from switching to ue5, the graphics have become worse (dlss is soap, everything ripples without dlss), the technique has become disgusting, muzzle flashes are literally vomiting
kekw
Old and experienced players left the squad mainly after the ICO, because the game killed the skill-dependent mechanics and it became literally BORING to play
when we installed the SD mod on the server where I administered it, which is very similar to PreICO times, a week later on this server I started meeting players who left after the ICO
Same for my friends, but we preferred GE over SD
Yes the muzzle smoke is wild, but their Main reason was because they Said it is easier to work on and they can get updates faster
I like SD better with the fast movement (hello qe and vertical gameplay)
I miss old Q/E it wasn't something like in DayZ, but it was the way how to check "Dead" corner and stay alive and unharmed

qeqeqe
Look at the road map, new faction next, CAS later, idk what the TC rework is but it could be ok
Your not wrong about the state of the game being in a bad place but Moi’s video lacks understanding and misses the mark.
I know the road map but just because they Are teasing us now with it is No excuse for no real content beside factions for the last year
Yea because everyone was doing UE5
I say we wont get any of the features before q2 next year, (maybe the Party System)
Where Are Fast ropes?

You just Posted it, with helicopters should fast ropes enter the Game
Big issue with the road map is that there's nothing ground breaking that will actually change the game and enable new and in depth game play.
closest thing is CAS and AA but that won't do much in my opinion it's too niche. I like the idea of TC rework but probably nothing major will happen, it will still not be played as it currently is.
Like Ukraine and france cool i guess but they will just play the same as any other factions of their type.
There's a lot of good feedback and discussions that happen but we never see anything that comes of it.
Dude, Moidawg was a huge OWI sellout, anyone who wasn't an OWI-defending fanboy realized that Squad UE5 was poorly done, but Moidawg defended him, downplayed the problems that Squad UE5 had, And now that he had problems with OWI he just started talking and accepting that the game is wrong, But if he hadn't had problems with OWI he would continue praising them and defending them with shield and sword.
Yea and it seems his video is more about his squad tournament got over scheduled which is ironic because last year he over scheduled a comp tournament without talking to other tournament orgs
But all of his stuff about OWI communication is dead on and has been for while now, thats not new.
Unfortunately him talking about how he built bridges with the squad comp community while claiming that “EITS is the first milsim tournament” is misleading at beat
Yep, honestly, anyone who isn't a Moidawg or OWI fanboy just watching that video confirms the theory, Moidawg is a sellout, He doesn't care about the community or even OWI, just because he had good relations with OWI he defended it shield and sword, Although many players suffered and continue to suffer with Squad UE5, for Moidawg it didn't matter, as long as he had a good relationship with OWI, he defended them shield and sword, minimizing the problems
And now he's trying to make a kind of Squad-Like but in Battlefield 6... when in reality I should try doing that in Reforger because there is even a mod that focuses Reforger on a more Squad-Like playstyle, But it's probably to win some kind of sponsorship with EA/DICE to be the DICE sellout.
There is some rumblings of some gamers making PR mod in BF6 portal
They probably will, and I hope they succeed, but I don't know. I'm just saying that Moidawg is already directly confirmed to not be someone who cares about his community, as he repeatedly stated.
You should make a battlefield-like in squad instead, BF6 is a lost cause gameplay wise
Lol how so?
Also it’s easier to fix gameplay issues with mods rather than engine issues with squad
It won't amount to anything when you can't change stuff like weapon characteristics
It will just be bf6 but you die faster
BF6 gunplay is bad?
It's not tactical
And Squads gunplay is?
I'd say so, there are elements like suppression, sway, and heavy recoil punishing full auto fire which is pretty core to the PR formula. You can't get that in BF6 because those aspects of the gameplay are locked away in portal, as far as I can tell
People who play tactical shooters want a grounded and punishing experience
PR recoil is almost nothing last i checked?
This demonstrates the recoil of the G 3 in semi auto as well as in full auto, aimed and un aimed. Shows that the rise is greater in semi auto fire than in full auto fire.
What do you mean by deviation?
This is also the flipping G3 that kicks like a mule

AK recoil is high but controlable unlike Squads current gunplay which is lower vertical recoil but way higher horizontal Recoil
Also I would not describe Sway as tactical ether
Ok
Firing multiple semi auto shots rapidly at the same point of the screen and expecting them to hit the same place, It tries to simulate how just like in real life, your gun will deviate from its initial posistion with each shot, making it harder to just spam bullets at something, and rewarding players who took succesive shots while readjusting themselves
mmmmmmm
Imo the biggest indicator of shooter vs Tac Shooter is the movement speed/ mechanics
The Finals has some crazy deviation but we are not calling that a Tact shooter are we
I mean, Battlefield lowered the "tactical" level a bit after BF2, making it a bit more casual, except for Battlefield 2042, most of the saga has been an arcade shooter, With realistic touches, Battlefield 1, the pinnacle of Battlefield and the last game made with the entire team of Battlefield veterans, demonstrates this.
Although I don't deny that Battlefield 6 is a "decent" game, it's not the worst Battlefield because Battlefield 2042 comes in there, but it's not the best either, It's only "decent", but that doesn't justify the price of 70 dollars XD
If you look closely you'll see that the stretch goal for fast ropes was never met.
Deviation == RNG bullet spread. It's how they implemented inaccuracy when aimsway wasn't technically possible in the ancient BF2 engine
What is an example of something you would call "ground breaking" in terms of potential features?
I have a hard time believing this would ever work. PR players don't really want BF6, BF6 players don't really want PR.
The modding tools do look interesting, but the portal itself in terms of mode discoverability looks really bad.
Fast ropes are an actual meme. Always have been.
Unfortunately all the folks who want fast ropes are thinking of them in cinema and have no idea how useless they would be in-game.
Basrah was content besides factions.
The muzzle gas/smoke is a bug, for what it's worth. Still annoying as fuck.
Moi is an absolute goober. That video is 80% him whining about his tournament not being taken more seriously, but the competitive community could not care less about Moi or EITS.
Like Logano said, some of the general frustrations about Offworld and this update are valid. He barely mentions these topics between breaths of complaining about how he isn't being treated like god for creating his shitty tournament format
They don't need to make a statement Moidawg is an entertainer he dances in front of a camera and gets upset for peoples entertainment.
Changes to MGs to make them more in line with meta, vehicle combat overhaul, environmental destruction, ect ect, things that develop the meta with more complex features that actively change the way battles are fought. Now i'm not a game dev so I can't say on guarantee if those listed are good in the way i want them implemented, but there's a potential in many areas like those that is unrealized, instead we get rather safe content releases with factions (which my favorite parts is when they get new roles or mechanics like the hand held drone for non commander roles) Maybe OWI is worried at disrupting the meta after ICO but i feel they were too brash with their implantation.
Either way there is potential to step on toes, but if nothing changes over the years, it will get boring
I feel like moi over stated the tournament thing, but i feel he's got a underlying point, nothings really happening
Changes to MGs I agree with, though I don’t know I’d call them ground breaking.
What do you expect from a “vehicle combat overhaul”?
Environmental destruction is likely not going to happen. I don’t think people understand the technical requirements.
Meta literally didn't changed after ICO, it's more accurate to say narrowed (AR + optics)
Before ICO light weapons were ARs with different magazine capacity and sights, after ICO everything that isn't AR - useless
Maybe not ground breaking because it was more so pre ico, but in the idea that it opens new strats and ideas available to MGs and SLs
Many different things could come from VCO (i used combat to be inline with ICO but it could be a vehicle interaction overhaul) and many of them could not be implemented, but things like vic interiors (not "ground breaking" to gameplay itself but opens the door to more features while being QOL), interactions while inside vics (healing, reloading ect), more complex vic damage models, shooting from vics and thermals has been said but im unsure of it, and working ADS on tanks.
like when they did the changes to the tows and the smoke counter measures and releasing the t90 i though that we'd get more eventually like ADS and the dazzlers.
there could be more to this list if i've thought longer.
and environmental destruction? probably not full scale but i feel they could manage at least a simple form, maybe trees and foliage or something.
Maybe GL has become more relevant, because you need less time to aim due to less contribution of dispersion to efficiency
Thats definitionally a change, if it narrows, thats a change...
Not to mention the change to play style that caused many "competitive veteran" players to leave
I get what you’re saying, fair on the VCO stuff.
I wouldn’t hold your breath on destruction though because networked destruction is hard. There’s a reason why basically only DICE devs have ever made it happen (Battlefield and ex-DICE devs that made The Finals) and why those games have relatively small maps and few assets.
Doesn't arma also have destruction?
In some regards ya. Pretty rudimentary and Arma’s netcode isn’t… good.
Pubg has some destruction too iirc, before it was just fences and doors, now you can make foxholes with c4 and grenades I think
That’s neat actually. Hadn’t kept up with that
I don't think you can blow up buildings though
Tech gets better all the time and there is some stuff that might be enabled with Chaos. But Chaos is also very new and hasn’t had the decades of optimization PhysX had
Squad will probably get destructable doors for buildings in the future, that is what the shotguns are made for.
Yea, hopefully. An undertaking of its own just to have doors lol
There are atleast 3 shotgun models that has been made, I think those are planned for insurgency overhaul
Many vets has left the game because it became too slow and boring.
Squad isn't a game that rewards you for suppressive fire, etc. Many would have stayed if only after ICO firefights changed in something that we have IRL or in Arma (blunt shooting of everything where the enemy can be, without seeing it). But meta stayed on pre-ICO level (noticed earlier - killed earlier, if you're not seeing anyone - don't shoot, even if they're shooting at you, or you'll be killed)
You're oversimplifying the gameplay way too much
the way the game plays now, is no where close to pre ICO
There is nothing complicated in Squad
I would say that every game is Groundhog Day for me, I can predict any action of my allies and opponents
yeah generally, but there's a different set of movement and actions that are incentivisedpost ICO, that's the meta change,
it's the same meta in the idea of "don't get killed" but it's what you do to achieve that which has changed.
The moment to moment is different but the overall is very much the same
HABs are still HABs, Rallies are still Rallies.
People move in the same paths as they did before.
Just slower than before
Yes.
yeah but typically it's the combat that matters, you can take a HAB in to account, but with the combat features now it's much harder for a single guy to take a hab as before, these things aren't in a vaccum
My point is that the overall approach to the game remains the same
Just stand on the west side of the HAB
Bar when your enemies aren't stupid like here lol
Many fights still play out just the same
Take the off angle, take the headshot/kill shot.
Players facing east when they're spawning
i mean obviously but are you going to sit there spawn killing for the rest of the match
Yep, if i want to
if you don't have team mates, eventually one particularly laggy guy will spawn and kill you, then nothings changed
Spawnkilling = potentially infinite tickets
Taking radio = 20 tickets.
The biggest effect of ICO was more CQC blundering
it was the base movement speed change, they need to revert it
you cant walk through a building with the speed required for cqb
Well, there are a lot bigger issues with CQC than movespeed but sure
ehh, they are all negligble but none the less i would like them seen changed
It’s the ADS timings and suppression at point blank I’m referring to.
- Black powder
- Gauss blur whenever you shoot
- Noodle hands
- Slow Q/E
- Slow movement
- Laggy netcode when full-auto
Alot of things need adjustment tbh, they should slightly increase height from when you take fall damage for example so you don't die when dismounting a tank.
yeah in theory, but realistically you're never going to get 20 confirmed kills off a hab in the time it takes to get the radio. not to mention if you fail and they take the point then it was in vain, killing the radio is a surefire way to get imediate and meaningful action
“Black powder” is apparently a bug and will eventually get fixed, but it does suck a lot.
soon tm
Yea…
🙏
We've gotten a ridiculous amount of kills from a single hab though. People just keep spawning lol
Devs didn't know how to surprize us in new 9.0 update so they changed every particle into volumetric object (now our PCs are dying and we can't see a shit)
Yeah especially on pubs people don’t stop spawning
A lot of servers they won’t make any effort to communicate that its being camped
Especially camping habs with an auto cannon, fire 1 round of HE into hab everytime someone spawns
Even on TT I’ve gone on some sprees.
Camping hab with knife you don't have to reload
when i mean negligible, i mean you can play around these issue with better skill, only one (save lag) you cant is movement because it's a hard limit
Can’t play around being blinded by your own gun 🙁
but it still makes it sooo much more stale
eat more carrots and get better eyes
🤷♂️
It is really annoying these days on some maps
Use optics. It will be bad, it will hurt, but it will be visible
Naw optics get effected too
Ya, apparently the effects are stacking like 3p + 1p + pip smoke all playing at once? And maybe effected by map lighting settings
You mean that weird spear with firing function?
It’s definitely specific to some maps
Yes, it is
Looking back on Metro Exodus idk where we turned wrong. This game has perfect shaders and of course lightning without heavy load on the PC
Yes, the gun itself is meh, but used as a spear it might be one of the best weapons.
metro mentioned
Eh, global illum is some good shit.
I’m glad we’re past Cyberpunk launch raytracing levels of overhype because it is actually a really significant improvement in lighting
I read somewhere that they are making another cyberpunk multiplayer game
Honestly, i feel a what i was talking about isn't even the biggest issue, but the biggest issue is the community just doing nothing, every time i play its always, no communication, no plans, no coordination, bad plays, ect ect ect and it's getting really boring.
games like squad and arma are cool because of the cooperative and choreographed, mutually unterstood plans to do objectives, but if it's just a bunch of vics and blue berries running around the map with no one talking then it's really boring.
like this is a full server btw, no one is on either points and we don't have any logi or coordinated attack or anything, it was just all squads spread out random, driving around and walking around doing nothing. eventually once everyone did get on point they just blue berry hoard walked through the open between the two objectives and died. squad 2 isn't even there defending but just passing through
that one radio on the north wasn't used for attack, the squad that made it walked west into the open and died towards the enemy main
it was later found and destroyed by a vic
over all though, somethings stale, somethings gotta change
something that isn't just factions
Yes unfortunately pub servers are catastrophically bad. I can only recommend finding the experienced servers in your region and frequenting them for pub play, or if you have the desire to search out private scrims and comp games
I don’t think there’s anything Offworld is going to do to fix this in the near future. I don’t think they know how.
In the beginning was this thread..
Even experienced servers are bad sometimes. Some days everyone on the server is clueless. In the beforetimes things used to be different. In the alpha stages communications and gameplay was good on most servers.
The problem is a mixture of multiple things, lack of proper tutorials, servers not creating a server culture with a focus on teamwork. Also players who are teamwork focused get burnt out and quit because the other squads don't communicate back etc.
I find that even playing on the same, teamwork focused experienced server it's still a issue most days. I too blame the infamous onboarding problem. I would say im one of those players who get burnt out, every time i get off it's because of my squad just fumbling something so easy if they just coordinated instead of just rushing while spread out with no plan.
I mean, yeah, but this is dreaming of a phase of the game you can never return to—at that stage the average player was simply more invested and bought into that gameplay
There’s absolutely a lot to improve around the learning experience, but at the same time it still requires players who care to learn. It would help, of course, but it wouldn’t return us to the dream of the alpha. Not like we had better learning material back then.
