#Remove the Automatic Rifleman role from the VDV and Move the machine Gunner Role to Direct Combat

The RPK is one of the better automatic riflemen, I think we should keep it
I'm not suggesting that it'd be removed from both Russian factions lol
RPK is the the GOAT of the AR Role. Just basically a regular rifles accuracy with a bigger magazine
No, the PKP is worse in almost every way.
The AR Role of them is literally one of the best you could have.
Dont be hating on the PKP, that thing slaps. But i agree the Unscoped PKP is pretty useless
Would like to see it. Would fit into "fire superiority and cqb" style of vdv ingame
This is more accurate to the VDV as they're more reliant on the PKP than the RPK irl
RPK has found no real use on the REDFOR side.
Everyone just rocks PKM
And honestly, RPK-74M with a scope is better than the Pecheneg.
Iirc they’d entirely phased the RPK-74 out of VDV service before 2022
Most of the time I’ve seen them using PKMs and not PKPs though
Iirc RPK-74s were also quite rare in Russian Army use outside of Syria too
Although the Ukraine conflict definitely changed that, atleast earlier on. Now I don’t really see SAWs or GPMGs in Russian hands at all (atleast when they’re on the offensive. Plenty of PKMs in their defenses)
Exactly
Im just suggesting something to make the VDV play differently than the RGF
PK/PKM is now the machine gun. Others were either discarded as useless (RPK-74) or are used because of lack of PK/PKM's (RP-46).
No, I’ve definitely seen RPK-74s and even a couple RPDs. I have not seen any RP-46s though and would love pics
РП-46, очередь с рассеиванием в глубину. Дистанция стрельбы 800 метров.
Стрельба из положения лёжа.

The RPK bit is taken mostly from the Markin's book.
That part I was aware of. Russia was in the process of phasing out the RPK-74 for around a decade but it seemed to cling on like AKMSs in the hands of poor SOBR units.
I doubt Russia was phasing out the 74 as it was still in OOB of all types of motor rifle companies.
From my understanding RPK-74s were becoming more and more uncommon even in organizations where they were officially still standard equipment
