when theyre beneath the geometry they dont go off im pretty sure, not sure how big the collision primitive is above the mine. had plenty of people drive straight over mines placed like that that simply dont go off.
only thing that sort of works is placing them in those instanced foliage rocks that have no collision
but usually those are small enough that you can still see the mine if youre paying attention

Yea the mine is invisible, they do go off. Only reason mines don't detonate in some cases is because the actual tire or tracks have to hit the mine
the collider on the tire has to hit the collider i highlighted which is well above the top of the bridge
