(just want to see what you guys are thinking cause i think MEA is just a worse TLF)

If anything the TLF are just a worse version of the MEA. Almost all of the TLF vics are worse than their MEA counterpart. The g3 at least has full auto which the turk rifle doesn't. Mea has hat on all of their units while tlf doesn't. TLF only has mgl and better helis over mea

#

Also they provide different experiences. MEA is a middle eastern army that primarily uses Soviet/russian heavy equipment with a mix of old western and Soviet small arms that gives a sense of the not quite fully modern but not unconventional. TLF is an "infantry focused" middle eastern/eastern European(by availability on maps) faction that uses western style equipment with indigenous designs.

#

The major issue is that tlf sucks at their supposed purpose since their rifle is viewed very negatively compared to most others, they get the worse set of armor for conventional factions with no atgm ifv or car and limited/no hats.

What purpose does VDV have when we have RGF?

#

An odd question to ask. They only really share a rifle caliber, and if that was problematic then so would every NATO faction using 556 or every post-soviet-equipment faction using 545

MEA has arguably the BEST HAT kit in the game while TLF doesn't have HAT at all

Also, Turks sucks. Real bad
Their MBT is so bad it's somewhere just right above the Leopard, so that makes it the 3rd worst tank in the game after the Leo and T62

They are getting HAT finally in tomorrow's update.

Tbh Turkey should be blufor

#

Cuz they’re nato irl

#

Seeing them fight the US and uk is super jarring

Well, that's kinda political but while they're in the NATO they aren't exactly friendly with NATO members

#

They did some weird shit

Turkey has a bit of a mixed stance. They're a founding NATO member but more recently the relationship has had some turmoil. They didn't seem too happy that the US recognized the Armenian genocide, and America wasn't too happy they started making military deals with Russia and cut them out of certain military equipment programs like the F35.

#

Independent is probably the best place for them to be because right now it's unclear and unlikely they would fight any of these factions over another.

Irl I doubt they will ever fight other nato members

#

I can see them fighting Greece

#

But yeah USA shooting at them is kinda weird

#

They could’ve served as a blufor mea

#

But I’m not unhappy they’re independent

#

I just always thought it’s weird

MEA is not REDFOR though, so did we need a BLUFOR counterpart?

Same thing with how WPMC has f-16 strikes from

It's not impossible that within our lifetime that Turkey may decide to leave NATO. It's been a concern for some time, though the current admin has not confirmed they want to do that.

Nothing ever happens

Lol

Easy to say that now.

#

It would be as unlikely to expect them to fight Russia, but both can be done in game.

I mean that whole thing with the downed su24 happened

#

Sure. But you're looking at it one-sidedly if you count that as a valid reason but none of the other tensions straining relationships between Turkey and the West.

#

It was after that event that Turkey was dealing with Russia and America got upsetti spaghetti about it and suggested sanctioning Turkey.

#

Squad's blufor is mostly NATO but is not explicitly all or just NATO allies, so independent is a good place for them IMO.
