#Squad needs a sound overhaul.

I think the distant sounds are fine, especially the explosions. The problem is some gun sounds close up, the G3 sound is almost comical with the metallic clunking, sounds nothing like in real life
Yeah, those metallic pings are not only unrealistic, but just really unpleasant to listen to. It pierces your eardrums.
Distant explosions and artillery are fine, but distant gunshots in Squad make popping sounds rather than having that deep rumble.
Whenever I've heard gunshots in the distance they've always had a thunderous crack. Not the little pops that they have in Squad
True, but I think its really hard to simulate the absolute ear deafening sound of real gunfire in a video game without being obnoxious
Like imagine playing as the insurgents that lack earpro and not being able to hear for the rest of the game because someone fired an ak within 5 meters of you
Also the hard transition between close and far gun sounds should be smooth. It is really immersion breaking when you step 1m forward and a weapon suddenly has a completely different sounds.
In addition to this volume levels should be rebalanced. Some guns are louder than others for no reason, and all new vehicles basically have electric engines compared to the old ones, which creates major gameplay issues.
This. Quality is quite nice but its implemented really poorly. PR has better feel my a mile, but its less agressive. Combine the two and its an audio masterpiece.
Yeah
Also the gun sounds turn into small pops at way too small of a range.
