Game is frozen upon language selection with gold background. Ryujinx on steam deck.

I have followed directions to install the game, update and mod and I can get to the language selection but can't do anything else. I plugged in a keyboard to see if I could find a key that would register and none did. Has anyone have any idea what I'm missing?

You need to set up the controls for ryujinx and set it as docked switch, hold the top right button (menu button) to activate gamepad mode or switch to desktop mode, only is gamepad mode it will register inputs

I was able to get the game to register the pad in window mode as you described but it stuttered really bad. I wasn't able to get it to run in steam though. It didn't open the game pad.

running into the same issues myself.
I can continue if the game is launched via Ryujinx and is not full-screen. However, everytime I press B (Switch's A button), it brings up a prompt to exit the game.
If I launch via Steam in Desktop Mode, it opens full-screen despite the option in Ryujinx to not do so. And inputs do not register. I have to completely reboot the Steam Deck to get out of this.
if launched via Steam in Game mode, I run into the same isue as Desktop Mode, except I can use the Steam Button to get out.

Controls are set to Steam deck with Docked mode enabled. Top-Right button does nothing for me.

Found this online. It worked for me.
Basically, for whatever reason Game Mode and Desktop Mode don't share options for controller Input on Ryujinx. So you have to set it on Game Mode as well, except you can't just click OK because its bugged out and have to do some weird trick with the on-screen Keyboard

For those without a keyboard:

Open Ryujinx in Game Mode

Select Options

Select Settings

Select Input

On this screen the Okay or Apply button will not work.

First configure back the controls:

Set Input Device to Steam Deck Controller and for Controller type: JoyCon Pair or Pro Controller.

Enable Docked Mode.

Hold the STEAM button and press X, which will bring up the virtual keyboard.

Press Tab on the virtual keyboard until it jumps to the right side (last column) and tap until you see the Okay key highlighted and press Enter.

(You should occasionally have to use the STEAM button to toggle the virtual keyboard away so you can see what is highlighted.

Alternative: Plug in an external keyboard and press TAB until you have highlighted the Okay key.

Just adding this to the collective knowledge:

You can bind your back buttons to tab and enter so you don’t have to do the keyboard typing thing. Otherwise this, plus changing the controller type to pro controller, worked for me!
