against nosorogs, going from FMJ to AP will save you between 0.1-0.2 seconds of fire with an end game green powder rifle. If you're using a sniper, it can be the difference between 1-3 headshot kills, so it's reasonable there.
BS is like 40 plus
for heavier armors you can get up to 3 shots difference in shots to kill between FMJ and AP in 5.56 to the torso, but yeah, in general AP is mostly a thing for when you're going for head taps

most of the medium sevas in the game can be upgraded to 5. it's a pretty safe (and a bit stale) strat to just farm up to BR cap as soon as you reach jupiter bunker and never need to progress with armor for the rest of the game
if you roll well and get one of the better sevas, they even get mostly the same base stats as the combat oriented mediums too
only difference between them and the heavy sevas is a bit of BR% that you're overshooting anyways and some BRC while you're still farming
is there a specific reason you take your volat emerald to full durability? I only ever equip it to help boost caps since the other elemental artefacts are so stat dense, which saves time walking around fields to build it
I would use a different gun, but with the fact that I have no scopes avaliable for the AKs and that the new ones are unusable is just offputting

Because if you mix it with the proper artifact you cap the res in 2 artis, even with a suit that gives no res, and on top of that you can put fireflies in the rest of the slots for HP regen, countering any damage from the passive fields, and making anomalies tickle with the right mods

yeah I just went to double check in-game and you can hit 80-90% depending on your helmet in any specific element (except psy) with just a 30% volat and one additional specialized elemental artefact
obviously a 99% volat is better than a 30%, but I've found it pretty beneficial to just craft it for the caps earlier

the lower tier ones that don't get the updated optics are especially rough, but there's enough variants that get sights that it's not uncommon to get one from any of the major combat encounters you'll run into

74N, 74M, 103, AKSM, Venom, PMC, are the ones I can think of from memory that got more sights from updating to 0.9.3

Community patches usually come in clutch for those in need, probably someone will take over a little project to keep lower DX's afloat if support is dropped entirely

The UBGL is fine, but the empty mag reload is just a plain downgrade imo
Plus on the older version the AKs were somewhat usable with the PSO-1, while in the current they take up half the damned screen, which is a massive downgrade for the most common and probably one of the more iconic WP guns.
The only viable option now to use an AK-74 is to go for Venom, but that one doesn't have a UBGL mount, which sucks imo

IMPORTANT: The following information applies only to gun upgrades.

- Reliability: Reduces chance of any part of the weapon to take condition damage upon firing. See

- Recoil: Decreases the camera climb when shooting. However, it does not reduce the camera shake.
- Fire rate: Increases RPM by a flat amount instead of being a multiplicative bonus. This bonus is usually the same number as what's displayed on the upgrade's info. i.e.: a 60% upgrade would be +60 RPM.
