I made bread again
yeast
eyeballed everything
-# I did attempt to take measurements at first, but it got messy and... yeah lost count, etc
the only correct measurement I have is 10 grams of dried yeast
but not sure even about that because I used up one of the remaining packets and used appro. half of the new one
BUT, it cooked trough, thats all that matters
Hey dude, it cooked 🙂 it looks great.
Two squashed patties, 2 slices of cheddar, 1 fried egg and mayo in a buttery brioche bun
That looks VERY edible
if the crust is a little chewy then it's perfect
I have a bad phone
No hate, just asking
Was just wondering i needed new glasses or no lmao
nah I need a new phone
I need to import that again
So good, perfect in the winter time
Roommate, "are they covered in cinnamon?" 😂
Shawarma
I thought this was @paper sundial at first
Idk, something with garlic and ketchup and mayo.
Sharing some food me and my group made during culinary class
We've made quite a lot of soup and salad-based dishes
Not exactly my favorite kind of dish, but soup is pretty good and easy to make, if the recipe isn't fuck ass long
And if the recipe is also not expensive
missclicked again award
I would 100% devour all of that. Very well put together and looks delicious besides.
Thank you
Actually wait I lied. I'd take the tomatoes out of the salad.
Other than that though
nom
you're welcome!

Had a tushonka can a while ago. The fat had melted, so it wasn't as good as it should have, but still okay tier.
Had it with Chernogolovka tarkhun, some pickles and doctor sausage

well I made the batter actually
So both?
she was busy coating the biscotti in coffee and whatnot

I don't know jack shit
I chose to ask this server as opposed to the Fallout server because you euros probably know some good shit
that wouldbe the mexicans not the euros
I mean they are the best but I already know how to make tacos
Which is the only mexican food other than nachos that I like
ik it sounds retarded
but i learned by using the colors
make a dish and spices that have colors that you think match

Ask the mexicans
Match the colors

I season with my heart
Honestly, as long as you got the core stuff: Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Onion you should be fine
And remember, nothing can beat the fresh stuff
Flakey salt is for topping, course salt is for soups and stocks and granulated salt is for seasoning
Stir Fried Tofu
Il fuck you up
tasty
Chicken again @echo yew
I kinda got a feel for spices by following recipes online and just learning what goes with what.
Buy them whole and grind them yourself, yes it takes more time but that's the only way to ensure you actually get good flavours.
If you want to get better at using them don't use spice mix either
Also it depends what kind of food you're typically cooking
Different spices for different countries
My main ones (beside salt and pepper) are : chillies, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander and fennel seeds
Then herbs like oregano and thyme (dried) + mint, rosemary, chives and savory (Satureja hortensis)
The issue is I don't know which ones I like tbh
Start by asking yourself what food you like and go from there
Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cayenne, chili powder, paprika are essentials
I'm really not a fan of garlic powder and onion powder
Though yeah I forgot paprika on my list, but I mostly use smoked paprika
I never managed to find actual good sweet paprika
Need to find some speciality shop that sells some

Hell yeah dude
Homemade Naan Bread.
It likes saying Pitta bread though. It's not redundant because it represents a specific style of bread ☝️ 🤓
You want the recipe, or well, instructions I came up with?
Aren't naan supposed to be somewhat soft and chewy ?
Post it here sure
either i or my wife will try it
Its still bread bread so no.
Its redundant cause it just means bread in another language
Its like saying Matcha Tea cause it sounds so smart but everyone else looks at you weirldy cause you literaly said Tea Tea.
Preparations: Naan bread, spread out some olive oil over the top in a thin layer, with a paper towel if possible, place a bed layer of your shredded cheese of choice, add your meat and veggies of choice, cover with Provolone and/or more shredded cheese, a dash of onion powder over the top.
Heating instructions: Preheat your oven to 350°F, place your Naan bread on a baking sheet with parchment paper and heat for 6-8 minutes, or until the cheese is crispy and golden.
Once finished, you can add Parmesan or Garlic salt to taste on top.
It also works for Air fryer too.
This was at 7 minutes cooking time and it was perfect.
Happy May Day holidays!

Sardines toast
I did a little cheeky as well. I had a half sachet of ramen seasoning so I added a little to the mix. It's actually quite good.
Beginning of the month?
It was nice man why not
This local food joint near me sells this monster and it's called the Soprano.
It's garlic bread with Italian beef topped with mozzarella.
Banana bread
Why no gabagool ?
Merchant-style buckwheat with pork, mushrooms, and vegetables (onion, carrot).
That looks like some killer kasha
Needs a smattering of dill on top
And a pickle on the side
Thanks.
We love a sloppy man meal
Thank you.

the more oil, the tastier the soup
to the point it is no longer a soup but a skin care
Best soups are made by boiling an animal bone, something like half a femur.
The marrow becomes the most exquisite broth.
This man knows his soup
Sadly, I do not have the time to boil bones for 1-2 days, so Ill just use storebought broth and upgrade it with tomato puree, soy sauce, selery, carrots, leek and spring onions
and beforehand I fry up some meat with onions and garlic
That works. Also, you don't need to boil a bone for days. It usually is enough to boil them for two or three hours.
Unless you make a lot of broth, from multiple bones, to refrigerate.
Hmm, yeah you are probably right. My mom used to boil them for up to 3 days, at which point it was a meal straight from the heavens.

Those are chicken wings for sure but I can't recognize the rest of your plate
Some salad and smth else
orange substance
There's always that one asian that does things better than you, and then there's that french guy that eats better than all of you

"Today, the Swedish-Finnish semla consists of a cardamom-spiced wheat bun which has its top cut off, and is then filled with a mix of milk and almond paste, topped with whipped cream. The cut-off top serves as a lid and is dusted with powdered sugar"
o-okay
The hell is a cardamom
but the rest sounds very sweet
and I fucking love sweets
lol
couldn't even describe it in my mother tongue

Bibimbap at a local Korean food restaurant
Yes that was during a travel in Stockholm

I would like a taste, it seems really good
cardamom is mostly aromatic
Unless you're eating Indian biryani somewhere, then biting into a cardamom pod accidentally is a death sentence
But mix it in your hot tea or coffee and it'll makke it taste fancy
Not sure if it even exists around these parts but I'll remember that.
Asian/Indian grocery stores are bound to have them
It's actually a pretty common spice, next to cloves
Yeah there ain't many here.

Bread.

I miss bread…, crackers, pancakes, waffles, biscuits, cereal, muffins, cookies, and pasta

Did that with my GF yesterday
Coconut cream liquor + diplomatico Rhum + liquid sugar + ice
You can be completely wasted without even knowing it 🤪
Another one I like is Zubrowska + Apple Juice. Very easy but super good :)
It tastes like apple pie in a glass
Uhh, that sounds interesting. Ill try that when I get the chance!
I got wasted at a new years eve because of that

But the advantage is that girls can drink the same thing, just gotta pour more apple juice for them

Sounds like a good party cocktail, yeah.
Just put two bottles and a few glasses on the table and you are down hahaha
W a n t
Gimme
Time to make soup.
(Added spoiler tags for those sensitive to blood/gore)
what kind of meat is that ? its too thick to be fish which i thought it would be at first
nvm i think i know what it is
It's wild game.

It's definitely not tuna.
Gon be nice soup
I’m prolonged fasting so this channel is both therapeutic and torturous.
For religious or dietary reasons?
Diet. Went from 202-169lbs in a month and 1/2. Just doing omad. No carbs no sugar, not to mention was achieved with no physical activity. This is a rendition, but harder. I started it off with a bag of doughnuts because I’m so responsible
its not so hard unless you live some place where the sun stays up for longer i guess
or where its easily 45 mid night in the summer
(meaning its 50+ in the day)
i've been fasting for like 10 years or something now
it's much easier when you're clinically depressed
what, celsius?
how do you live in a 45 c country
yes
that's too much celsius
easy, you dont
you just stay inside (unless ofc you have to go outside for all the stupid reasons )
Oh look,tuna
Lmfao-
I'm just fucking around
Wild game should be very very tasty
It's always 30 degrees something on average here
Now I'm hungry
Five litres of soup/stew. I put so many ingredients in it that I have to boil rice/potato/pasta on the side instead..
HD-view of the tender meat which sunk to the bottom.
Hella ingredients and hella sized too.
Eight onions, six carrots, twenty-ish champignons, one red bell-pepper, one vary large parsnip, six garlic cloves, one leek, and 2kg of diced game meat.
What game are we talking about here
I've tried venison only once and damn I really wish there's things to hunt in my country
Elk, specifically.
That's it, time to drive 30km to the big city for some foreign meat ;
God i wanna eat it
And now, after adding thyme and oregano, it is time for the finishing touch—the bayleaf...
Or maybe five.
this looks seriously nice!
I will make soup this weekend, too, and share the creation!
Do it.
I might do smth if we have the sufficient ingredients for it -_-
I'm not cooking these days :(
Too much work
I had this though. My favorite local Japanese restaurant
Looks very poggers
Looks similar to katsudon.
Fried pork filet + rice and many vegetables with salade and a gorgeous sauce
Yes it can be considered as Katsudon I guess
i love rice it's my favorite food
it goes well with so many vegetables too
True :D
I like semoule also
Eh what it is already in English
Semolina
With tomato sauce and paprika and some eggs, it's awesome
Oignons > paprika > add tomato sauce and peeled tomatoes (you can get those in cans). Cook eggs on the side and prepare the semolina on the side.
Mix everything in your plate and there you go
You can add your favorite spices in there indeed. I like adding Pimenton (Spanish spice that gives a smoky taste) + Red Tabasco
damn i didn't know semolina has that many uses
in my country we use it to make манная каша which is basically like an infant food
but it's very tasty
I think I know what you mean. We can have this in France. We also have different kind of semolina. For salty stuff we use wheat semolina
I should take some photos next time I cook some galettes

man you french know how to make different types of food out of everything
I always like to talk about food with foreigners because every culture has a different view on common ingredients
Like stuffed tomatoes, apparently that's typically french
yeah i never knew you can use semolina in its wheat form
While it's just tomatoes filled with meat
we only use it in its ground form to mix it with milk and turn it into infant food
Ah ok. I guess that's more typical of north Africa countries
To cook Couscous for instance
Wheat semolina is the basis and they cook it in a very specific manner
I just use hot water
Boil the same volume of water than semolina > add boiled water on top in a bowl > cover the bowl > wait 2 min
Then add salted butter, salt and pepper and mix everything
It literally takes 3 mins
Faster than pastas or rice
Yes, that is katsudon. I had it in my visit to Tokyo, a very tasty treat.

カップ麺
I've accidentally made holodets.
for some reason i never liked holodets 😦
i need to make bread again soon
Selfmade bread is really good!
it is
I am not that good at baking though..
i usually mess up the first (with the yeast) but after that im good to go
can make a cake without issue
cant make fucken bread
basicly always cooking on instinct
Same, and with baking my instincts leave me
But i kinda do at the same time
Exo can you unblock me without setting up a thermo nuclear blast at your place? i realy want to be able to react to that since its funny, but i cant 😦
i will never sent you depictions of hand holding ever again, even tho you asked
and thanks
perfection
Man that’s campfire worthy
I see bayleaf, I like
thats why perfection
Or maybe two!
Made pizza yesterday, the dough and everything, didn't take any photo, just ate everything

God I miss pizza... I can't take it anymore...
Don't lose it now.
You can do it falco, we know it
diet?
Yes
Not bad for end of the month breakfast
Wait are these pineapple slices ?
yeah, oh wait "hawai Toast" is a just german thing i guess
and yes if there is pineapple on anything its "hawai" and yes i know how stupid it is, but they had to sell them somehow

Gimme the hawaiian toast bitch
I want it so badly now xD
I’ll take the tea
bring toast i have Pineapple, Ham and Cheese left but no toast
might as well make some bread tbh
For me it's coffee + poridge with maple syrup

Or home made brioche with peanut butter
Brioche ahhh, thats my jam. It is so good with Tea
Porridge and Maple Syrup is also nice, but the Syrup is a bit too sweet for me in the mornings, so I eat it for an easy early lunch sometimes
Havent had a good brioche since I moved to the Netherlands...
You can make them yourself
You don't want to see me baking, I am really bad at it for some reason
Ight i hab bred
Cheers.
okay i make the oven ready
Yesh
You guys really know how to make broke food
Meanwhile me using mashed potatoes as a spread for my sandwich

Creamy Cajun chicken penne

how the fuck did you end up with emergency measure No. 29?
Kisiel
My room doesn't look the best ;^;
Another five litres of food.

I don't know if it's a stew, or a potluck, or some other abomination.
Oooooh I need to make some bread as well
might bake some brioches during the week 🙂 . The freezer is full so it would be a waste doing it right now XD
its easy to make bread but for some reason im to lazy to do it, big boi for eating just went into the oven
depending on how much you make, there is always a limit on how much one or his/her/its company can devour
Hehehe. I'm jobless currently so it's only for me and my wife
we can cook and be jobless together atm it seems
i wish i could help with code as well, but its like summoning cthulhu for me
Realy have to clean the oven completely after this one

Seems like it xD
Lots of steel wool and enough sodium hydroxide will do wonders.
It will indeed
Chemistry isn't easy
Finding an artifact irl, you gotta be actuallyucky for that onr
well a lot of #📎to-do are numerical values edit in various ltx though XD
heh, somebody knows the good stuff
im too stupid to find my crashlogs half of the time, but if i can help i will be fully available after this weekend ^^
Do tell
Peel about 5-6 gloves of garlic (or more, if you like it more garlicy) and fry them until soft and slightly golden brown. Mash them with a fork in a bowl and set aside. Soften up about 200-250g of butter in the microwave. Take about a handful of parsley and chop it finely. Then you mix it all together until well combined and put it in the fridge. It will last you at least 2-3 weeks.
Tastes better than any store bought one, trust me
I thought you did the butter too 😩
Sure, I'm waiting for pics!
Going to make zefir?
Oh, that stuff rocks! I remember eating it when I was a kid. My plan was to just make applesauce, but maybe I'll make some zefir too
Is a lot more work tho
so my sisters asked me if we can make Halva together again, which actually translates in me doing all the work and them running off with the goods so i said no for this time
I think getting a hold of sunflower seeds for halva will be difficult/expensive at this time..
How do i make zefir?
it's easy really. You google "how to make zefir" and you'll see that there are a bunch of tutorials and some are even video tutorials
but making it is really easy though
you just make jam out of any fruit you want and then mix it with some egg white mix or something and a thickening thingy like gelatin
but you need to wait like a day for it to set off
God
It's similar to making meringue.
Idk what that is either
egg whites whipped with sugar, baked slow and low
light, tender and very tasty
you sure you never tried it?
It's pretty straightforward, the only trick is not to overmix it
Because then it might taste either fucked up or taste too sweet
No, they'll turn to concrete.
These are hell to make
guess I was very lucky for a couple of times that I actually made those
though I've watched some tips and tricks on the internet beforehand, probably some of them worked?
can confirm made a bunch of sweet concrete at the start of the year
No im not quite sure what this is, it started out as a minzed meat/leek/cheese soup
But then I found stuff that would go bad otherwise
Rice makes a good base/side-dish for most of things

Chicken over fresh noodles with a spicy gochujang glaze
Another pork curry stew. (yes, I will clean up after myself..
)
has anyone here ever made Pasta alla Genovese?
had to double check what that was, but kind of?
I want to try it
but I am slightly alarmed by the sheer magnitude of onions needed
well, yes, obviously I expected your commentary the most
is it okay if I use the neck part of beef for that? does it really need THAT MUCH onions?
Is that a problem?
I thought all slavs use as much onion as they could when cooking.
The almighty лук.
it is widely used, but not two to three kilos on a dish my dude
Why not?
to be fair, chef John did say that this is something between an onion soup and meat sauce
but I'm just not used to such amounts
oh come on, we don't use it that much
I think.
where did you get the idea? I'm curious now of how it is perceived from outside
Various dishes. One of them being плов—which I've made myself.
oh yeah, плов is very nice, but to be fair, it isn't exactly slavic dish, it's from our friends from the south
Lots of pork, garlic, and ofc лук.
It may be from further south, but it's about the adaptation of the dish which show cultural diversity. ☝️
carrot almost always as well
Definitely orange sticks.
try adding chickpeas and raisin to it, too
it is actually very good in it
but not a whole much, just to taste it
Thanks, I'll remember it for later.
What funny is: I didn't think it was to much onion
But I get it, kind of feels like a waste
Imagine onion soup
What's a good alternative to pork since I can't eat them as a muslim, that and a couple more named animals
When done right, almost everything can taste like chicken i hear soooo and no i have no idea about human meat.
dammit, everytime I make carbonara I gorge on it too fast to take pictures and boast about it here
just believe me, it was quite tasty
ah, blissful food coma after a day of work

bread
котлет
Brioche
Qu'ils mangent de la brioche
How you make em
They look very yummy
And I'd prolly eat them in some days even though their ment for a week
- ½kg Minced meat (I use elk, but you cna use pork, beef, chicken, mixed, etc)
- One onion
- Four champignons
- Three garlic cloves
- 150g Shredded cheese
- One or two tablespoons of mustard
- Oat flakes
- One egg
- Potato/Wheat flour
- 70ml Soy sauce
- Butter
- A splash of milk (I use oat milk)
- Assortment of spices and salt to your own tastes (I use salt, black & white pepper, rose pepper, and oregano)
Fry onion, champignon, and garlic with generous amounts of butter, until soft. (Remember to cut ingredients to very small pieces)
Mix the meat, soy sauce, egg, mustard, milk and the fried ingredients in a bowl—once they've cooled down a bit.
While mixing you add a handful of oat flakes and successively add the flour until the compound is barely sticky. Keep mixing them until the compound feels sticky again.
Let ingredients rest for ten minutes, then roll them up like meatballs and squish them gently between your palms to give shape.
Pre-heat oven to 150°C, heat up the pan again to medium heat, fry the kotlets in margarine for one or two minutes on each side.
Place the fried kotlets in a lightly lubricated glass bowl (remember to space them out a bit so they don't stick to each others' sides) and let them cook through in the oven for 20 minutes.
You can reduce the ingredients down to the most basic form:
- Mince meat
- Egg
- Onion
- Garlic
- Milk
- Flour
Creativity is the limit.
Yes
I think imma add some things
Once i do it ofc
Not today
But soon
Oh and before i forget it
Thanks aldourien
You're welcome.
grandma always used stale leftover bread soaked in milk instead of flour/oats
That works too. But it's more expensive to buy loaves of bread just for that.
Instead just wait until you have some leftover bread that is very hard
And then grind it to tiny tiny tiny tiny pieces
usually i always have left over bread after i baked some
Can we just acknowledge that boiled eggs cooked with the right amount of time are a godsend? I won't accept "no" for an answer
do you like them hard-boiled or with runny yolk?
Runny yolk are the best
only reason you would hard boil it, is because you need it in a salad or something
That's for when I feel edgy and I'm bored of eating the same thing over and over, nonetheless it's very good
day 102, i now only have 50 eggs left
That's me
same at times honestly
Yes it is
Some of mine teriyaki turkey, that's the original teriyaki recipe with sake, mirin and soy sauce
Holy shit

I made some butter chicken the other day using indian species a friend of mine brought directly from india, it was super good and tasty but it was just chicken with rice and a yellow sauce

The chicken bathed in the sauce for an entire day and was also yellow lol

Sunday? It isn't even Friday here
Big breakfast from sunday*
And das a lotta soup
French onion complete

Add a seat to the table, I'm coming
4L of the stuff, come and grab a bowl
Oh I wish
My wife and I made some a few months back. Absolutely love onion soup.
She even baked fresh bread for it.
I just ordered kabob. Let's see if I remember to take a picture today before eating it all.
