Made myself some Mexican hot chocolate out of a couple dark chocolate bars, cinnamon, black pepper, and a dash of vanilla, sweetened with honey all melted down in some whole milk and reduced for about 10 minutes. I was gonna pic it but its...just a mug of brown liquid lol. Tastes great though.
Instead I'll hit a promise of what I'll be cooking later. While the milk was coming up to temp I prepped a couple jalapenos, some onion, a head of broccoli, and cooked up some jasmine rice. Later on I'll be making up some ground beef stir-fry noodles. Have some mirin left so I figured a soy sauce base with mirin, leftover scallion oil, and a leftover ramen seasoning packet ought to do the trick for seasoning. Ramen stir-fry rice lol. Peeled like 6 cloves of garlic too. Should be good.

Broccoli is perfectly cooked oml yes. Bright and green, still firm yet the bite is good. That jalapeno comes through at the very end with a little heat. The flavor is there but faint. Probably could have used more. Overall great though.

Real pizza dough can be found in the freezer section for like a dollar. 0 reason to use a pre-made crust unless that 15 minute prep of stretching the dough is really an issue. Though if you are going to use a pre-made get a Boboli crust. They're the best of them, at least.

I've got no idea. I must have packed it in a tote or something. Here's one I found that looks about right.
Ingredients:
Dry
2 cups AP flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
Wet
1 cup of mayonnaise
1 1/2 cups of light brown sugar, firmly packed into the measure
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp instant coffee powder
1 cup water, warmed to blood temperature
Process:
Heat oven to 350
Butter (or use shortening) your baking pan and flour it. Flouring it helps prevent sticking. For best results use a metal baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer combine all of your dry ingredients and in a separate bowl combine all the wet. Make sure to whisk both in their own bowls until smooth and uniform.
Then just dump the wet into the dry and mix until just combined and smooth. If you like a more firm cake you can beat this mixture for 5 minutes to develop some loose gluten structure.
Your cake batter should be very loose and pourable, put in your floured baking pan and make sure to use a spatula to get all that chocolate goodness from the mixing bowl into the pan.
Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick or wooden skewer comes out clean.
Remove from oven and let cool completely inside of the pan. The cake is so soft and moist usually it cannot be turned out onto a dish without damaging it and I don't recommend it.
Choose your frosting and top it. I personally recommend a vanilla or chocolate buttercream or cream cheese frosting. The cream cheese frosting will be slightly tangy and pair VERY well with the cake. (thats the one I use, and please make it from home its so easy)
I don't think I'm missing anything there. It's a really easy cake to make. Just get the ingredients together, combine them, bake.

Negativo. I couldn't find the cookbook. I had some of it from memory and found a recipe that I thought was similar. I filled in a couple details like the coffee powder in the recipe. I also added more sugar because they said it was only 1 cup in that recipe and that's just not enough.

it's look good, if you want to what i did when first learning to cook was look recipes up for sauces or for specific item i was making instead of whole dish and i would piece together dish using individual recipes until i understood basics like emulsifying, different cooking types and what they do, ideal temperatures for what kind of meat and prep for the meat, how much to season, etc. you get the actual experience of cooking a dish while learning individual parts that make it up and it prepares you for making your own recipes eventually

I've already tried 2 US MREs. As for Russian, this is my 3rd time
An older version but yes. I think I bought mine in 2019, it was about $90 plus shipping. The whole thing was delicious except for the crackers which were actually quite stale and had the flavor of one of the drink mixes that tore open in transit. I poured off the drink mix from the inner box and mixed it up anyway. It was pretty good, some kind of berry flavor. Can't recall the kind of berry though.
American MREs aren't as flavorful as other MREs but they are also designed to last longer and be more acceptable to all palates. I still love them but undoubtedly they lack in overall deliciousness.
My current favorite meal for the US MREs is the chicken burrito bowl. Second favorite is probably either the goulash or the Italian sausage and peppers.

British ones are pretty good. I had one with a chicken curry. Apart from being a little devoid of moisture it was really good. The boiled blackcurrant sweets were one of the best things about the ration and I HIGHLY recommend everyone try to find blackcurrant juice or candies. One of the best fruit flavors I have ever had.

I'd totally nosh them if I were a couple bowls in. But! An idea for next time if you are able:
Take those butterscotch chips and put them in a bowl and microwave them for like 10 seconds until they begin to soften, add a totally arbitrary amount of butter and microwave for another 5-10 seconds until everything is soft and starting to melt, then take a fork and whip the butterscotch butter mix until smooth and creamy. Then (at least this is how I'd do it) I'd then spread butterscotch on two halves and peanut butter on the other halves and alternate eating the PB and the butterscotch ones so every bite is a different flavor.
That is how my THC addled taste buds would dance if I were to make those bagels myself.
What I'd probably do if I were to do it again is to melt the chips and pb together. It's how I make butterscotch haystacks, by stirring crispy chow mein noodles into that mixture, and that's probably my favorite homemade candy on this godforsaken rock

Could be peppers too but those are some weird looking things. They look like apples but there's just something off. The red one in particular, it looks like a tomato from the side but if it was a tomato and it was baked it wouldn't hold its shape like that unless they're barely cooked.

Since we're here this was my "bullshit stew" that I made earlier. Just some stuff I had lying around.
A sachet of chicken gravy, some beef stock, a frozen pack of mixed vegetables, a chopped up leftover hamburger, and some cream to make up a stew. Topped with home made bacon bits.

Tried some Momofuku noodles they just came out with or started stocking locally, but they pale in comparison. Those ar elike flat spaghetti noodles. Very bland. Too sweet and aftertaste to make up for the shit noodles.

Red is double spicy. Black is original. I have only tried the black and Carbonara (color-blind, I dunno what color that is).
The carbonara is basically the black one but it's got powdered cheese you add to it and I think it might be slightly less spicy sauce or less spicy-sauce. A lot more enjoyable instead of just all heat. It's still pretty hot af though if you haven't eaten it in a few weeks.

Low(er) carb chicken and romaine wraps. Store bought breaded chicken tendies that I tore most of the coating off of to keep it in the ballpark of keto. Sauce toss was Everything Bagel hot sauce, butter, and a touch of cream whipped up smooth. A spoonful of ranch on top with some white onion pieces.
