I found a good strat on woods , at least for me
basically walk along the outlines of the mill through the woods so I blend in sort of , then through checkpoint which usually has a scav then loot the cabin for some ammo and then outskirts and out

I got out with this on my last raid

Depends, when they see someone and trying to chase it but lost their trace, firing at their last position, can be a corpse, they sometimes make sure that they are dead, can be a lot of things.
