you just buy standard and then you can select unheard edition and the other bullshit in the SPT launcher

so like if you think you will play like idk 60 hrs thats 1 dollar per hr so worth it if you go by this (like I do)
you also have pretty much endless mods unless SPT just got updated to a new version, then you have 0, not sure if you can download older versions from their github
but you would probably have to download older versions manually anyways which is a pain in the ass

I wouldn’t expect much right now in the way of mods because the Unity 2022 update just happened, so any client mods that had bundles (guns, clothes, attachments, backpacks, items) all have to be remade. You can still probably get SAIN so the AI isn’t stupid or aimbot with no inbetween
But past that, SPT 3.11 is kinda aids right now,
It’d be like you wrote a bunch of papers for all your classes in microsoft word, and word just had a massive update and you can’t open any of those papers with word anymore and you have to rewrite them. Modders always knew the unity 2022 shit was coming but i don’t think anyone was really prepared for it. I dipped out of modding just last year, i’m not re-making all 20 of my guns, fuck that.

You’d need to remake the gun completely. 2 days for a pistol, a week for anything else, more time if it has a lot of attachments. That M249 Tron did would probably take two weeks just because of the way belts are animated in tarkov

You’re essentially putting all the models, textures, materials, sounds, pathIDs and scripts on the prefabs all over again and re-packaging it as a new bundle in unity 2022. It’s not too terrible if you save all your assets after you make bundles as backups. But goddamn modding takes a lot of disk space

Then you’re fucking with a selector switch having animations. Because no other pistol has fire selector animations
Or most ARs not having compass animations included in their bundles
When BSG added the compass they didn’t add the weapon in right hand compass in left to a lot of their guns, they just had those guns like… call the animation from a totally different filepath entirely
So when you made a new AR mod based on the M4, the compass wouldn’t appear when used
All in all, noone at BSG talks to each other.
