its kinda funny how with the more i play spt, the more i get the feeling that the progression and quests are just not designed for multiplayer in a sense
like on singleplayer its fine, but this grind on online, completely out of whack
especially when you consider that the way it is set up rn you need to regularly repeat them basically.
And that aside from the fact that many quest feel like they were designed with the express expectation that you use a wiki to do them, which n my mind is just bad gamedesign in general.
the flea restrictions, too
in singleplayer they kind of make sense to give you a sense of early game progression, but in online, 15 is just dragging shit out until you can start building your hideout in earnest

its less about that and more about the grand scheme of things
like the monetization how it was originally planned as a once up front payment more or less. with how long this game has been in development. at this point its probably not really throwing out too much profit, probably the reason for stuff like arena and unheard. at the same time you have a season like structured multiplayer game not unlike diablo or poe, but were basically into season 20 and the game hasnt even released. Take a guy that has been playing since 2020. that dude has basically played 8 wipes in a careful estimate
how many more will he play without major updates, which they in theory cant monetize if they sticked to their original business model.
Just like ark, basically the release date is more or less the burial when its no longer profitable to work on the game, thats more or less my impression right now.
In my mind Tarkov has spent too much time in development at this point, not to say the development has been going way too slow.

and that is just taking the baseline ignoring the wider implications of recent events

So that when a server owner wants to update mods or has someone new join, all you have to do is have them download normal SPT, download your modpack installer, and run it so it automatically installs all the mods they need.
