they added this biome progression thing where the pine forest is safe no matter what but the moment you go in any other biome you have like a 3 minute timer before you fucking die

and also a storm system where those biomes can get a storm that fucks your shit up and starts killing you in 17 seconds

but you can like unfuck the 3 minute timer and just be free to do shit by completing a series of achievements and crafting some survival gear bullshit

Biome progression seems weird since it's tied to an achievement, basically

I think a better idea is to leave winter alone, but make the cold stronger

Make the burnt forest require an oxygen tank or something

Make the rad biome require a hazmat suit or a gas mask, but gas mask still gives you rad damage if used alone

the achievements basically go "make a shelter in the base so you dont die every 3 minutes" "harvest this biome-specific resource that spawns more often here" "make this stim that extends your survival time in this biome" "kill these specific zombie types that spawn in this biome" and "gather the materials to craft the biome gear that makes you not die in int"

and then once you claim all of those achievements you get the crafting recipe for the biome gear and youre good to go

burnt forest has a shitton of smoke that makes you start choking, eventually you suffocate or something
desert gives your ass sunstroke or some shit
snow gives you frostbite or some shit
wasteland gives you acute radiation poisoning and you get fucked up for real

i made this world with wasteland in the center and it ended up making this neat + shape but got damn
