I managed to get Stronghold Legends to run under Linux... Was as easy, as any other game to run it.
Meanwhile under Windows, I searched for hours trying to get it running... Nothing helped (and believe me, I tried)

I also didn't want to switch to Linux, because I made similar expierences as Yampire... But Linux has come a long way. And while it isn't perfect, it really has become a viable option and I'm so glad I made switch. It was such a relieve to finally break off from Windows... And seeing what a cluster fuck Windows 11 is... Jesus fucking Christ, I'm glad I jumped that Ship

I had to figure out, how to run the Sims 2 under Linux... And while it was a bit more search intensive, it worked out at the end
The good thing is, people are trying to make it conveniently as possible to make those games run right out of the box.
Right now you have to tinker sometimes... But we will get there... Things are constantly improving

Don't give up on Linux, check it out every now and then. It's worth taking a look... After all it's free
