you should try to start every fight with an ambush
seperate a stealthy character from your party
and use that stealthy character to attack from shadow or something
after the enemies roll for initiative, walk the rest of your party into the engagement and into advantageous positions
the enemies who are between your party members (in the initiative) are priority targets. when you have two characters going simultaneously, it enables more complex maneuvers

Turn based stuff is hard for me to enjoy because it doesn’t feel like I’m in a position to counter a lot of stuff that people pull. I have to figure out all the mechanics while trying to keep myself alive, explore without getting creamed, it’s. A lot.
