I thought of a cool dagger concept which turned into an entire planet lore, so there is this kingdom deep in ice mountain that has essentially become its own living continent with multiple branching kingdoms all under one kingdom with a king, its a very secure kingdom both economically and security so its one if the three great kingdoms, but due to being so hard to get there if u go there u might aswell stay, so because of that the kingdoms slowly grow as nobody even tried to leave, however the reason they hold so much power isn’t just from that, but their power over small kingdoms, the king has a small task force of assassins that report directly him, they work mainly for espionage but can also carry out intel gathering and assassinations (hence assassins), you can count the active amount of any amount of kings assassins active in any region on one hand (>25 in total), due to it being so hard to get into the regiment, in order to even consider joining you’d have to be the best of the best of the best, it starts with you being a regular foot soldier, then a elite guard, and finally a royal guard protecting the kings castle and only then can u consider, you first have to get a recommendation from a high ranking general and then an APPROVAL from a current assassin to try to join, after that if you wish to join you have to go through a 2 year long TRAINING in multiple languages, strategy, fighting exercises, etc. after that you will become a trainee for the assassins carrying small task such as delivering messages, taking care of rogue spys or counter intelligence, but when you are truly worthy you will be sent out to do the final task, the reason there are so few kings assassins, you are exiled from the kingdom once you start the task, returning to any branch kingdom of it without your task item will result in an execution, for the duration of the exile (1 year) you have one job, find, track, and slay a frost wyvern and claim its tooth. frost wyverns in this world are derived from the ancient west dragon (big scary ice dragon) the size of a small city, so to slay one (usually the size of a small apartment complex) is a task some people cant even imagine completing since they are the absolute apex predator of the region. after you slay it you are to take its tooth and use what resources you have to turn it into a dagger which will be your primary weapon your entire employment, after returning to the kingdom you are to take that dagger back it’s inspected by a current king assassin and you are to duel them and if you land a hit you’re finally allowed to join their ranks, kings assassins are so strong they can usually take on small foot soldiers in double digits at a single time and are usually just thought if as propaganda since nobody really sees them besides the king, so thats my lore yay

After that, dagger is inspected by another assassin, you have a duel and if you land a hit you become a full fledged member. Incredibly impossible task so it is considered folklore.

The second form of casting spells is through magic circles, magic circled are when you carefully draw a type of ritualistic circle onto a surface and channel mana into it to summon or use the magic that was written with it, although magic “circles” can be seen when summoning magic from things like wands and staff these are not to be confused with these. The third way is incantations, this is when you say a line correlating to what magic you wish to you use, this can range from small phrases to large and complicated poems/phrases. There are also two taboo types of casting, that would be silent casting and joint casting.
Silent casting is the use of memorizing the feeling of your mana channeling from your body from a spell to then mimic that feeling of mana throughout your body to cast it entirely without the help of any incarnation rune or magic circle, due to the complex and difficult nature of this there has been a stigma for users of this method for centuries, causing it to eventually become taboo. Joint casting is the practice if using multiple forms of casting to cast a single spell, this is not taboo for any reason other than how dangerous it is, while it does cast the spell significantly quicker and makes it powerful, the chances for the spells to counteract or interfere with eachothers are high which could potentially backfire the spell, harming the user.
