Short answer: No. Marginal impact if any.

Long answer: Texture resolution does not significantly impact frame rate because once an area is loaded in, it is stored on your graphics card’s video memory, where that data can be quickly accessed.

What matters most when considering texture quality is your gpu’s vram capacity. At 1440p with HD Models being used as well, I am exceeding 12gb of vram usage. Pull up a performance monitor and track your vram usage with the textures. As long as it stays under your gpu’s capacity, you’re good. If it goes over, you will get stuttering/hitching.

Since this game is heavily cpu limited, what will impact your fps most significantly is distant objects/npcs being loaded in and out. This is why any fps guide will tell you the most impactful settings to change for performance are grass density/rendering distance and the number of NPCs and/or A-Life simulation range.

Something I noticed personally is that I previously used this exact same setup except with C-Consciousness Grass Overhaul with the 4K texture option, grass density at around 60% and rendering distance at 130, and I was getting around ~90fps in most areas. I switched to PanceRide’s grass to try it out, and with grass density at 80% and rendering distance at 280 (as recommended on the moddb page), I was getting around ~120 fps. Grass shadows on for both btw. (These aren’t precise measurements, just what I’ve noticed while glancing at my fps counter every so often). Don’t get me wrong, C-Con looks great, but there is clearly some optimization work to be done there.

TLDR: any texture mod should not affect performance as long as you have enough vram. Also experiment with different grass mods and see how much your performance differs.

something also about ccon is that it spawns so much more grass, small grass medium grass big grass etc very densely and tight and the grass spawning on the roads and other areas where grass doesnt spawn with vanilla or pance
