And that's why both of you need to try and optimize your games more including either getting rid of reshade or disabling a bunch of bloat in it.. Fella gets 30 on 1080 and you get 35-50.. Why do I sit on 115-125? My PC isn't the beefiest thing out there.. It's just a 3060
increasing grass density causes overlapping (depending on your grass mod).. Other grass mods look horrible without density but it's so poorly optimized that increasing the density just for it to look good drops fps by half.. Same goes for texture packs.. Some are just eating vram like mad while others (who use the same texture sizes), just work well..

If you want to squeeze out even more you can turn off grass shadows and only use the grass shadows provided by SSS.. Maybe set it to High or above that and you'll get even more

wanted to replace trees w/o spawn like 1st anomaly custom maps but it's too much work for 1 person to make new models and replace em
after that i would probably replace stalin statue in dead city with my own for doing so much work 
I was thinking of exporting sdk scene to blender with anomaly trees decompiled and using scripts to replace for example all 3 vanilla poplar models with my own trees from list
but to do this good i need to make around 100 different tree models
and rn i have 20 or smth like that
i used kryiron sdk that he shared and from decompiled maps i only use trees to have thier position rotation and scale

Im using TreeIt fast free easy to learn
for tree models and for branch textures i have speedtree textures that ive made for vanilla trees 
I know this is a real case-by-case basis question but like... how hard is level editing exactly? I'm assuming quite, since I don't see too many map mods.
I can't speak much because I don't know shit but from the little that I understand, it's "easy" in comparison to actually add it to the game.. You have to change quite a lot to actually get it on the map with spawns.. Even worse with quests and stashes.. And then you need to change a big file in base Anomaly to make sure your level transitions work properly which can break unknown things.. Ex. Everything will work fine but the final door in the monolith war lab will crash the game.. And you'll never know unless you test literally everything and hope for the best..
From what I saw, making maps is easy.. Making good maps is hard.. Implementing them is so daunting that no one wants to do it..


it's not difficult, if the community did more and whined less about the lack of an SDK and took the CoC 1.4 SDK and adapted it a long time ago, everything would have been possible

dialed in the perfect values for ccon_neutral LUT, where shadows aren't too dark: Gamma 1.2, Saturation 1.0, Brightness .8. lumscale 2.2, lumscale hemi 1.0, lumscale amb .45
How's your sun look with those settings? That's the only problem I seem to be getting with ccon_neutral is that I can't seem to find a sweet spot where the sun isn't greyed
love those radioactive signs too 
yeah thats been a bit of an issue, couldn't push the brightness too high or everything is washed out, I fixed the sun as best I could with a slight tint adjustment (towards blue) of -48 in reshade, that was the most natural I could get the sun to look. It's definitely a LUT that prioritizes the foliage, while atmos makes the sunlight feel better but has less depth to foliage

There's Just something about level 1 NVG goggles and hunting mutants and monsters. Its just so analogue horror vibes, It feels as if the trees are watching you and the pixeleted stars just make the sky seem almost fake or uncanny...and I dont think it gets appreciated enough for it and making you still feel small and vunreable despite this equipment meant to be a counter to the dangers of the dark. It gives me the creeps, like if I look back on these photos im going to see something, a figure or being in the far background or standing between the cars...

You don't need my settings. Just dl and install emergent zone lut datura @ 75%, set all sss to high and install pancerides grass and trees and ato 5 then watch your fps burn! 😆
@timber swallow did you do alot of testing? What would be the difference in fps for panceride and Ccon compare to aydin if density and render is the same

Why would I test when aydin is outdated and c-con is so vanilla? I like Pance for variety and the og look.
Would say c-con has the edge on performance though because for pance, you have to ramp up the detail density for good coverage.

Bro, CCON is the most vanilla grass mod I’ve ever seen. It’s like someone opened MS Paint, scribbled green with the airbrush tool, and called it a day. The albedo looks like it was exported in 2012 using JPEG compression at 60% quality, and the normal map? Might as well be a flat gray texture labeled “do not use.” You can literally feel the RTX 5090 struggling to render that uninspired chlorophyll. No subsurface scattering, no detail blending, no wind shader—just static, depressed turf. It’s like the author found a single Creative Commons grass photo, tiled it 8x, and called it "stylized." Meanwhile, other mods are out here blending photogrammetry with triplanar projection and 16-bit masks, and CCON's still stuck in “Unity terrain tutorial Day 1.” I’ve seen Roblox games with more vegetation fidelity.

and r__detail_height 0.85

yeah just click "reset" on every sss submenu. it will use the settings from your last loaded files. (by default, 70% of those are from atmos and 30% from SSS22) if you have CCON LUT you have to press reset because it comes with more sss configs

It's normal, ue5 highly encourage devs to use stupid tech like nanite and lumen because it make dev faster. UE is PURE garbage. Fixing stalker2 mean completely redo everything from scratch and it will never be like old stalkers, it's just not the same people anymore who dev it.

Yea some of it might be different cuz I use the quick action wheel mod and use hold triangle for ammo type and double press triangle for item wheel. Thing is you have to be in walk mode (double press circle) and then double press triangle to put away your gun. Also I used L for both circle (double press for headlamp) and r3 (Hold for laser toggle) that's why you see that one twice but yea glad I can share this
