I approached the so called ‘Zone’ from the South, but I bumped into a Military Outpost. I dared not to go through, though I saw people in the far distance, on the other side. Instead, I managed to sneak through behind them, and traversed to a marshy area in the west. It was early in the morning, maybe those soldiers were tired yet to notice me.
This Great Swamp was a beautiful, untouched backwoods. The weather was fine, partly cloudy. I saw some weird people on my way, scientists, ecologist, but we didn’t bother each other. Also with the animals: there were vicious, fierce looking cats and dogs, but I tried to walk silently, and I didn’t disturb them. I wandered for hours in this area, and made many photos with my old Kodak machine. My friends told me that I make fine pictures, and they can’t wait to see my new adventures. My plan is to continue, and dig deeper into the ‘Zone’, and document my little journey. I hope it will be peaceful, I try to avoid violence (though I brought with myself an old almost broken Makarov pistol - my grandfather gave it to me - and a few old ammo mags, just in case.)
I saw a nice old church, a few watchtowers, abandoned villages, and I even visited a camp with these ecologists living in it. They were very kind and peaceful. They asked if I want to join, and help them with tasks, but I kindly rejected it, telling them that I need to go further. Maybe next time.
At a place north where a train was wrecked I saw a broken fence, and some tall buildings in the distance. I decided to go that way. Some said that it’s the Agroprom Research Institute, I found it exciting to be my next stop. I wanted to sleep in one of the wagons, so that I could continue my journey freshly next morning.

Nice! I experimented a while ago with running vanilla Anomaly in G.A.M.M.A. . It was not DX8, but looked similar. I needed to be able to use my old Anomaly save, which didn't work in it, because I used another kind of BAS. I made a new profile, disabled everything, and added that BAS. It worked. From there, gradually activated some graphical mods, mostly shaders etc. The gameplay remained pure Anomaly.
It was oldksool yet modern looking at once. I loved it:

I got this idea in the morning that I'll make this 'Adventure in the Zone' series. I'll try to add a new set every day, or in every few days, with a few lines of 'back story'. I'm still figuring out the format, but it will be something like this, as You see one post before.

I bought my 1660 Super this HeXmas, and finally I built everything together in a new case. I'm very happy with it, honestly, I never believed that I'll have a new decent PC ever again... not to mention Anomaly and G.A.M.M.A., they were the final straw to force me to do that. I didn't regret it!

Thing is, that... I was too ambitious yesterday. I collected photos for Day 2, but I'm not perfectly satisfied with it. Fog does not look good.
Today was even worse. My problem is that I kinda got obsessed with it, and it lost it's magic, which I had on Day 1. It was spontaneous, now I feel that I'm forcing it. I made hundreds of shots for day 3 & 4, but abandoned them. For example, I had a route plan, and fucked it up. And I'll have to remove the helmet fuckwhatitscalled thing too. I have good ideas, but I have to mature them a bit. And do it a bit more collected

I was just experimenting with the Atmos shaders a few minutes ago. My problem is with AtmosR+ is that it's too 'bright'. I like even Atmos, which I presume without reshade, but AtmosR is great, and I love AtmosGamma too, because of its warm colour tone and smokey feeling

cpu and gpu are at 40-50 degree celcius

CPU's pretty chill since the game only uses 1 core, and I have a beefy dual tower cooler. GPU tho, highly depends on the area. If there are lots of NPCs the game becomes heavily CPU limited thus leaving the GPU barely doing anything. If there's just a few NPCs around and my GPU gets to actually do something for high frames, it usually hovers around 60-70°C edge temp

• Phrozac badlands - CA + FGFX
• SSDO high + AA 4x
• Added SSS shader modded exe again to the game since it was broken for me + modified the settings .h file to include rain puddles at all times for the screenshots. I think this shader is somehow broken by the inclusion of hippos in 0.9

Its Atmospherics with the AtmosR+ReShade and a couple of custom HDR related tweaks to the reshade + rtgi module. I can share the file if you wan. Might have to tweak a few options here and there like the HDR related shtuff and also the rtgi module wont work unless you have it and install it to your reshade shaders folder
