FO3 was considered the "worst" because it was Bethesda just seeing what they can cook (i liked 3.. especially since it was my first fallout game)
just was shocked that it peaked recently that hard, i suppose me not watching the show/paying attention to it does make me clueless about stuff
I was kinda led to New Vegas just because i got bored, i watched some gameplay before which basically spoiled a ton of stuff for me
i knew some characters, some backstories, more or less how the story flow goes and i knew it will play very similarly to FO3
my character build knowledge was basically: charisma and intelligence are important, lockpicking/medicine/speech skills are good to get going asap
charisma kinda fell off... like its not as important as my first playthrough proven.. intelligence is key tho which my second playthrough proven 
there's a ton of stats that seem important but kinda just exist without being acknowledged much
i felt... bored starting off, i totally couldn't get into the vibe but i managed to pull through
first save lasted 23 hours, the second one i pulled 62 hours before i reached the ending
it just gets fun once you kinda immerse yourself into it
