also I learned these days, dunno if you saw the message when I said I killed a guy who ran out of ammo when he opened fire at me

he had 1 shield point

and it fully reduced my anvil shot from 40 to 24

even with just 1 point

so as long as you have 1 sliver of shield

it still provides you with the full damage resistance it says on the tooltip
